Give the spurs roster to Silas, they would lose all games by double digits. it looks like a small miracle that the spurs got 5 wins with that roster, but if you have a system and do the basics correctly, all it takes is a little bit luck to get the wins. If you do things wrong, even with a lot of talent you cannot win anything.

oh spurs got 5 wins. break out the parade. who cares. by the end of the year they'll be one of the worst teams with one of the worst records. their team sucks. fluke starts happen every single year. this is no different

Spurs are also way older so it’s a worthless comp, there really isn’t a comp that i can ever remember in terms of how young we are, maybe the eddy curry bulls?

Of course Spurs is not a good comparison. But this team has tons of talent and putting the lack of structure, the stagnant offense, the not improving defense on just being young is being too optimistic. And that hurts player development as well, very badly indeed.

Talent that’s 19-20 years old isn’t worth anything if your goal is to win. Why do you basically never see guys that young in playoff rotations?

Ok do not use the Spurs, use the Pistons comp they are the same age and they just beat the Warriors. Let use the Pacers as a comp. They just beat the Nets. There is no way right now we can beat the Warriors or the Nets. Age is a excuse we need leadership and discipline from the head coach. Also, we need a veteran on our team who cares and wants to help this team, Gordon honestly do not care about these young guys or this team…we need to trade him soon

Maybe too much of an expectation, but regardless of age, I want the team to look like they actually practice something other than setting screens, trying to pass to the open guys, move the ball, improve on shot selection etc.

People just don't realize just how young this team is.

The entire team, aside from EG could have used another year in college.

Right now the Rockets are just a gamble on talent and none of it has hit the jackpot yet.

Aside from Eric Gordon, the two highest paid players are Green $9.4m & Jabari $.8.9m
Tate and his measly $7m is the 4th highest paid Rocket.

They have a total of $73.5m in salary obligations on the roster - Including EG's $19.5m while carrying $62.2m in dead money.
That dead money equates to 84.6% of their total salary obligations and 45.8% of their total cap.
Take EG out of the equation and they have a whopping $54m total in salary.

Now consider the rest of the league is operating at well over $100m and as much as $191m while two lowest teams are Houston $73.5 and San Antonio $74m .... with no other team within $20m of that figure the next two lowest roster caps are Indiana and OKC both above $94m and those are the only 4 teams below $100m in active roster cap and of the rest, only three of those (Memphis, Charlotte & Detroit) are below $120m.

From #15 on (Minnesota) each team doubles, or more the Rockets active roster cap.

Of course the expectations were ridiculous but i think most rational people understood how this season would go. Using the pacers as a comp is also absurd, they are way older

Good news is that the Clippers look beatable this season, Kawhi still semi injured.

At least a chance in the next 2 games.

    Silas or not.

I think many are concerned that we are not teaching these kids how to play the right way.

A different teacher won't change the result of the wins and losses necessarily, but they can certainly impact the trajectory of the learner over time, positively or negatively. For instance: eliminating KPJ dribbling 5 times per catch is an easy correctable that would help the development of all of our players, right?

That’s not a different teacher problem. That’s who kpj is as a player and how he plays the game. That’s on the player

If he can’t demonstrate improvement over last year, he should be gone after the season.

Respectfully, I disagree completely on both points.

A coach can teach a player to play to their strengths. KPJ's strengths are mostly off the catch with immediate action thereafter.

Probably. I was hoping the team would win a surprise 30 games. But 20 wins and a shot at the Wembenyama sweepstakes wouldn't be such a bad thing.

This is on the players, they are indeed too young, and at least six years away, but that is normal. Silas will last, but it's obvious he's just a placeholder until we add one more pick. He's not likely to get past next season. None of it matters much. Green has come a long way and that's all that matters. Jabari will do the same. The only other thing that matters is that Green wants to stay here when he first gains a chance at freedom. We need to be winning before that day comes.

He will survive and Daishen Sux will continue to see time.

Anything that brings you closer to Wemby is not getting removed.

You realize they have Keldon Johnson , Poetl and Vessell right? None of these guys were picked last year and none of them are 19 and 2p yr olds. In fact their picks for 2021 and 2022 were Primo (who got cut) and Sochan who has actually been outplaying Jabari so far. The grass aint always greener on the other side.

But then again Silas made the huge sacrilege by benching Sengun so I guess your mind is already made up lmao.
