Never said that. I said it was in the MAGA playbook. Remember the excuse the zip tie guy (the one at the Capitol with his mom) used?

So... the reports from reputable news sources and the guy's relatives are inconclusive. .OK.... would you agree that the stuff you've been posting is also inconclusive?

Well, I haven't claimed anything as fact - I have been clear from the start that we need more facts to come out. So what exactly are you referring to?

Do you understand what I posted about these blogs?

The police has so far explicitly stated that they do not know the attacker's motive.

Yet, the entire Left of the country (plus @bobrek, who is a Republican) has already decided it was politically motivated and is the Republicans' fault.

the blogs and tweets youre posting seem dodgy as hell. and hasnt crazy guys family already come out and said he went off the deep end into qannon and right wing bs?

if this wasnt what it seems dont you think it would have already come out? if pelosi filed a false police report then he should and will be charged. ill go a step further and say nancy should resign.

but as of now i dont think this is something other than what has been reported and the blogs and tweets you posted just dont seem very credible.

First of all, the guy's motive has not been made official. So we don't know for sure.

But there is a difference between the ideas those on the left are using to say it was politically motivated and the ideas being used by those on the right to try and claim he wasn't really a right wing fanatic.

    1. The left are using actual things the guy posted to social media and online showing he was indeed a right wing conspiracy theory MAGA and QAnon follower. There are reports that he also was shouting "Where's Nancy?"

    2. The right wing uses the fact that the guy made hemp bracelets and lives in Berkley and had had been a nudist to say that there is no way he could have been right wing.

Or that it must have been a gay lovers spat because, you know, San Francisco, and also why wasn't Nancy, who's job is in DC there? And what about the security?

Of course Nancy whose job is in in DC, and the security would have been in DC with her.

So neither side has it confirmed. But those on the left are at least basing their supposition on actual things the guy believed and posted recently. The right is basing on wild yarns and crap they imagine based on whatever misinformation (two hammers) they can come up with and concoct in their minds. They are the exact same kinds of conspiracy theories the attacker in this case would believe. It's kind of telling and helps makes the let's point that folks on the right don't use critical thinking when analyzing evidence and will act out on crazy conspiracy theories.

Two g2y lovers having a spat vs right winged lunatic looking to kill Nancy Pelosi with a hammer.

Even if u ignore the motive and what not. I just find it weird that instead of focusing on the aspect that a lunatic tried to kill an elderly couple with a hammer, they r pushing this erotic fantasy angle of two g2y men having a lovers spat to downplay the incident.

U could have all the evidence in the world, conservatives won't claim him as their own. It's quite funny, someone made a thread to identify a woman's political party based solely on looks and behavior.

But for this dude his intense hatred for Nancy isn't political like most Republicans, it was a g2y lovers spat.

    Quite dumb.

Remember when many Muslims claimed that there was no way Muslims were behind the terrorist attacks, and that instead it must have been the Jews or someone else?

    Welcome to their club.

Another example of this is the conspiracy theory that schools were buying Kitty Litter because they were woke and have kids they are grooming to become Furries or whatever.

When the reality is yes… some schools do have Kitty Litter stocked up in some classes. And you know the truth as to why they do….it’s actually because it’s a school in Colorado that had a mass shooter and the kids were locked up in a room with no bathroom for hours.

Whenever there is a harsh reality in the world that would normally make conservatives or anyone uncomfortable with a position they are told makes them a “good person”, there immediately is a massive conspiracy theory pushes at an alarming rate to spin a narrative that turns that discomfort into conviction… That Yes… we are actually good people with righteous positions. When in reality, you guys are kind of monsters.

I think surveillance video and police body cam might help clear some stuff up.

Where have I said it was politically motivated? I have answered a couple of questions about articles and posted links.

For all I know, this guy just hates the Pelosis. Maybe they ran over his dog.

Apparently any mentioning of the attacker's unhinged right wing politics is not okay. It warrants putting out unfounded poorly pieced together conspiracy theories.

You insinuated it when you ridiculed doubts about the media reports so far (which mostly seemed to state the guy's actions were politically motivated - this very quickly became "the story" - and you seemed to support the "reputable" news sources).

We will see. Hopefully, eventually we will get more facts.

That's my point - you cannot find any "unhinged right wing politics" definitely attributed to the attacker online at all. And the two blogs which supposedly were attributed to him appeared to have been uploaded on the day of the attack and taken down again a day later. That leaves alleged Facebook posts of which there is also no trace online, and we don't even know for sure that it was him.

Supposedly, some relatives said he believed in these conspiracy theories.

Others, like his longtime partner, said he shares her very leftist viewpoints. His entire life up to this point screams more of mental illness/drug abuse/leftist socialization (Berkeley is not really MAGA country), BLM/LGBTQ stuff on the house, neighbours describe them as very left, etc.).

As I have always said, far left and far right are similarly nutty and therefore you sometimes see people switch from one to the other.

    Thus, inconclusive as of now.

By the way.... suspect was NOT wearing just underwear. A single news outlet (FOX related) reported it and others ran with it.

Here is the current article link from that news source:

    https://www.ktvu.com/news/alleged-pelosi-intruder-has-manifesto-of-conspiracy-theories-sources

Here is the 'correction' notification in that article, and the article no longer contains any reference that Depape was only in his underwear.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story misstated what clothing the suspect was wearing when officers found him.
