I guess I'd be wanting to mimic what Seattle did with Russel Wilson. Built up the Legion of Boom and then left QB for the final piece. Trying to work in multiple players all over the place at once seems like it could take longer especially with the crapshoot that is drafting franchise QBs.

Think of it like this, if the Texans just had AVG QB play, what would their record be in this division? I think they would be at least 3-3 or 4 -2 and I. 1st place with THIS TEAM!

If DW4 would've been playing, they would be 6-0, 5-1. Outside of KC and Buffalo, there is no real teams in the AFC.

Its romantic to think like that. This run defense is an abomination. The LB unit is probably the worst in the NFL. Good building blocks for us on defense and it appears to me that there is more game changing talent on the defensive side at the top of this draft to add on, but Im not going to convince myself with garbage time stats anymore. The Raider game should have banged that home for all of us.

What joy is there in being "bad enough" to win the AFCS and then getting embarrassed in the 1st round? We've already done all that. The blueprints are out there. Either have a transcendent coach that just needs a great QB to fulfil the vision (do we have that?) or build up your defense to the point that you can keep the games close enough while you find those guys on offense to take the next step. Just my preference in how to build form the ground up. You get too occupied trying to put out all fires at once and you dont control any of them. I was actually thinking the defense would be much better than it is and its been super disappointing. We could take the lead late in any game, but I have ZERO confidence that this defense would hold.

No romantic, just practical. How would you judge Mills' play thus far? In my estimation, he's been a bottom tier QB.

Name me one game they were totally out of going into the 4th quarter?

He's been pretty bad. No doubt. Im not sure "battling" against the Bears, Broncos Colts or Jags is going to comfort me much. Being down 20-7 to the Chargers and coming back was nice, but again garbage time stats wont fool me again! Giving up 28 2nd half points to the Raiders should have been a serious self reflection session for this team.

I guess in its essence you could be right about this team enjoying a better record and toying with the playoffs, but would that convince you that the talent level is really anything that the true powerhouses would have a hard time beating?

To me, you have to take steps to get to where you want to go and the first step is winning the division.

I think with a better QB that is definitely obtainable and once you get into the playoffs anything is possible.....look at Cincy last yr.

They had a good QB, nothing special, a good defense an avg running game and a special WR.

That's not what many draft prognosticators are saying. I think for sure 1st Rnd or Top of the 2nd if he keeps playing like this.

And why not, he has the size, the arm and he's athletic.

No they’re not, he’s projected as a 2nd day pick with an outside shot to sneak into the first.Yes he has size and solid arm, he’s a decent athlete. Bryce and Levis are better athletes. They both will go far above Hooker

I love Hooker as a college QB. I’m guessing 3rd or 4th round. He is not an accurate passer. I can’t say how many long balls he has missed. He has a ton of targets and a great offensive system to work in. I’m pulling for the guy as Tennessee is my second favorite team. Just don’t think he his worthy of a first round pick. Bryce Young is by far the best QB in my eyes, just afraid he won’t survive the NFL. I hate Alabama by the way.

I said 1st or 2nd. If he continue playing like he has been, he will be in the 1st round. There are too many QB needy teams; Det, Hou, Car, Indy, Pitts (possibly), and Jacksonville(possibly).

I can possibly see 5 QBs going in the 1st rnd; Young, CJ, Levis, Hooker, Penix/Van Dike.

He won't last until the 3rd or 4th, if he keeps.playing like he has.

No they haven’t. Only time they hit on a real qb was DW4.

    Did they hit on him?

In addition to being a perverted criminal, I think he's overrated as a QB.

Point is they've never had an even semi complete team when they've drafted a QB.

Of course they hit on him. I’m talking on field. Who actually has a complete team? Every team has a weak area. When one of your weak areas is the qb position you have no chance.

And drafting a QB because you need one, that is avg to slightly above avg is the way to stay avg for a decade or more.

Also obviously they didn't hit on Watson. He's the main reason this Francis where it is today. Hopefully lessons were learned. Agree to disagree with you on this.

There's only one way we don't draft a QB -if we sign one.

There's no one to sign in FA, draft the best QB available and roll with it.
