The game before, he had 3 blocks and was credited with 2.
This game he had 4 blocks and the stats guys gave him 3.

A few blocks are worth the price of admission when your center can slow roast us inside the other 90% of the time.

8 years of age difference between Nurkic and Sengun. When Nurkic was 20 years old, he was worse than Sengun. You talk like Nurkic could be blocked every single day by a teenager. Take it slow buddy.

I don't know if "blocks per times directly challenged" is a tracked NBA stat but my hypothesis is that teams know the Rockets interior defense is bad so they go right at Sengun and whoever else is the nominal C a lot (and the scouting reports all say to do this). They may get blocked a bit but their PPS is really high.

Like they used to say with Olajuwon and Mutumbo it wasn't just the blocks it was the shots they changed and deterred that helped anchor the defense

    As w
As we all know defensive play isn’t the strongest part of Sengun’s game but at least he does what he can do, trying to show the best effort. Gotta be patient if you want to see progress. Also let’s not forget how guards in this team are terrible defenders as they can’t lock up any of the opposing guards. Without a positive team defense, Sengun is just there for scapegoating.

Sengun seems to play a lot better in drop, perimeter and recovery defense than he does at actual one on one post defense. Needs to get grown man strength to bang down low.

    Nurkic is 6’11 290

    Sengun is 6’9 250

Just a big size mismatch, oddly this would have been the perfect matchup to give Boban 15 minutes in but he didn’t see the floor.

Wrong information. Alp is officially 6’11 plus blocked Nurkic like 3 times in the post. How many bigs in the league can even do that let alone a 20 years old?

Sengun is 6’9, Nurk is 6’11

Senguns listing is in shoes and Nurkics is without. They are officially the same height because the NBA doesn’t have standards for team reported heights.

Alp is 6’10 for sure. 6’11 in shoes.
Nurk is 7’ in shoes. Was about an inch in height difference between them. Strength and weight is a big difference

what is your source that Nurk's is without? Seems like you are looking for an excuse to undermine Sengun.

Sengun doubter, enjoy your 5 minutes of glory before firatata gives silas the sengun stopper a kick in the butt and your houston tanks, the worst franchise in nba for 3rd year straight, are moved out of houston...

so fitting the rockets were roasted the way they should roast other teams because they refuse to utilize properly one of the best players in nba...

Nurkic bullied Sengun all night long. He is just not strong enough to bang with big centers.

All our young players are physically too weak to play at the NBA level. They need to fill out.

Nurk was originally listed at 7ft by the Blazers, when the NBA changed asked teams to list heights without shoes his height was changed to 6’11

Sengun was measured at 6’9 by the national team for the EuroBasket tournament this summer

But whatever believe whatever makes y’all happy

Sengun is smaller than Nurkic, but he did ok. As others pointed out, he defended Nurkic for maybe 10-12 minutes. Silas should have used Boban and Garuba against Nurkic. Instead, he used dwarf Tate. It's really hard to believe that Silas is not tanking on purpose.

We all agree that sengun is not prime Hakeem or mutombo and he needs to get stronger.

Might i suggest not got blown past by opponent's guards each and every time? İt's not only center's duty to play defense. 3 blocks is more than we can ask from sengun at this stage. Y'all want to have a prime mutombo so others may fool around and continue to concentrate on bricklaying instead of playing basketball on both ends but it won't do any favor whatsoever in long run.

Even if we had Wilt, he would be running up and down the court with low efficiency. We don't need anyone else. We need a real coach to teach the guys including sengun to play proper basketball.

I’m mainly frustrated with the rim protection. Makes me see why some wanted Chet, who I’m not high on. Sengun got abused by Nurkic, but I’m not mad about that bc he’s just too big. Silas should’ve known that and had a game plan to send help. Poor coaching

I actually think the best thing Sengun has done is started to take 3s
