We got bloodied last night but we’re far from dead. Winning championships isn’t easy.

The problem is I could see game 3 or 4 getting pushed back a day for weather, which is a possibility and them running Nola out for game 4. That’s not a great scenario, obviously.

I love JV but at this point it’s a given that we can’t trust him in the WS. A bit of it is fluky, but it’s the reality too. Could he pitch again a ball out? Sure, but we can’t count on that and we need a quicker hook for him. Really could have used it last night. That was a huge mistake keeping him in there for 5.

I think the Astros should move away from Justin Verlander and go after Jacob DeGrom a Young Power Pitcher.

Justin Verlander looks so scared and breathing so heavily in the 5th inning. He loses control and gets confused of the small strike zone. Justin has a belly and kind of out of shape.

Lance McCullers gets scared too after struggling with his control.

The Astros need Hunter Brown in the Rotation next year. Hopefully more Power Pitchers like Forrest Whitley can replace Verlander.

Yainer Diaz must play at DH and 1B

Find out if Pedro Leon can play CF and hit

The Astros must get younger and give Joe Espada the Manager Job. Dusty tried but he is limited in Strategy.

Why aren’t we putting Alvarez at DH?
    When will Mancini do something?
Dusty trying to get JV his first WS win backfired
We need Altuve’s bat to wake up

    …so many thoughts

Have to view him as you number 4 pitcher.
Crazy to think that way but he hasn’t looked like himself this postseason. Leg injury changed his mechanics? Phillies Mariners are just great hitting teams? I don’t know.
He can still have an incredible outing game 5 but this time have a short leash.

Should of had someone warming up the minute he gave up that double to the first batter in 5th. It’s not like we don’t have the depth to do that.

Is crane willing to pay for degrom? And he was also rocked by Padres.

Espada is leaving to join whitesox after this WS.

Yes I was surprised they left him out there thet long then again the Phillies left Nola out there longer than I thought they should.

Giving up three runs was bad but our unhittable bullpen also gave up three runs. A lot of people like to pin this on Verlander but this was a team loss

Let’s get a win tonight while we work on the team.
Mancini is lost, he will break out of it sometime next season.

Win tonight and we are in solid shape. Everyone expected a split at home.

Bullpen only gave up 1 run. What you mean?

Unless you're talking about the whole playoff run.

I would rather use that money on extending the core, then relegate it to someone who has a track record of postseason failure. If this was one season, I would agree with you 100%, but this isn't even 50% of the time. This is almost every time.

True. We scored 0 against theirs. So for all those saying get into the pen. Ok, we got into their pen. What did we do. Unless it pays dividends later in the series

No Verlander gave up 5. Bullpen gave up 1.

It’s 95% on JV. The other 5% goes to the offense for blowing opportunities.

Verlander is part of the core. Maybe it’s because I spend most of my time watching a mediocre cheapskate team, the Twins, but great pitching is the rarest thing in the MLB. There’s a reason why these guys command so much money.

I think this is about keeping him on a short leash in the playoffs getting rid of a guy who over the season can deliver those type of numbers going to be very expensive to try to replace that.

That's the concerning part. This offense is not that great.

Absolutely on JV. He really really sucked as he always does in WS games. It's a shame.

Here lies the problem though... You cite great pitching like Verlander is a great postseason pitcher. He is Jake Odorizzi in the regular season bad type of pitcher. He isn't in that equation as much as he has dominated in the regular season. I love JV. I just don't love him when it matters most. This is exactly how I felt about James Harden.

The Astros have given up 24 runs this postseason in 8 games.

Justin Verlander has given up 12 of those.

Houston's pitching has been as advertised. Justin Verlander has not.

    It's a problem.
