The Rockets force me to do some straaaaange things...

 

Tate trying to defend Nurkic was similar to Polish cavaliers were trying to stop tanks in the world war.

Both slaughtered. Tate is a lesser guy now on.

 

For this game and in general, Sengun really isn’t. Can’t really say that he doesn’t show his best effort almost every game in spite of his deficiencies. His body language looks even better than others. Not a perfect player by any means but anyone with eyes can see his effort and IQ in the court.

 

If you shoot 4 from 19 you must learn a lot yes!

 

This is what separates greats from the average, the hunger to win, even from an early age. Hopefully, this is simply immature talk.

 

He lacks "winning culture", likely never played in a uber-competitive team and probably caring his own stats more than the team's.

Bench him till he learns what does winning mean.

 

That is why I like Jabari's rebellious nature. Loser mentality is contagious.Hope Jabari+Alpi revolt against this tanking culture.

You're missing the point.
It's not about losing games, but about showing improvement, proper schemes and a system that resembles modern basketball.

Watch those other teams and you can see the Rockets are an unorganized mess with no real gameplan.

 

Gotta learn how to play smart instead of ISOing all game with terrible shot selections.

 

Jabari sucks at finishing at the rim but we all knew that. It was in his scouting report. Offense stiff and not fluid but he might develop a better post game and handles and finishing in the paint after a year or so. Hopefully he polishes up these things and can be a very good 2 way player when its all said and done.

 

Maybe they based it off of his draft combine results where he oddly had the second fastest 3/4 sprint time at the combine. lol.

 

Now he can only achieve these times when trying to grab the last donut on the table.

 

I was quite happy at first, even with the turnovers, since we were moving the ball! Did you see that one shot from the corner for Jabari I think and it was at least 3 passes, 4 guys touching it, without a single dribble. Unfortunately that was short lived as we went back to doing whatever and it again became obvious we have incompetence at the helm. The excuse that they're young is just ridiculous. You can still have simple sets that involve cutting, off the ball movement and that you can actually call. I don't think I've seen Porter, Green, Nix or EGO call out a play, not once. We are free wheeling it, and it's ugly. I've decided to no longer watch full games, because it's just not worth my time. I'll either watch the 10-minute highlight video or scroll the game afterwards, but that's it. That way no cussing, no frustrations, no unhealthy heart beat raising etc.

I did see hustle again in spurts and wow @ that energy from Tate. Was also happy to see Sengun in the starting line-up, he did well. A good wake-up call is how while we have tall guards, we're very small, thin and not strong at all. Blazers are built different and there was no way we were going to stop that, but the effort was there for stretches. The lack of help side defense and how I almost never see anyone rotating over to get into a position to box out is concerning. We already allow teams to attack at will, but then we definitely need everyone to put in the effort, since Silas refuses to do what's sensible. Like I don't know, perhaps, double team Nurkic?! I think this season will be easier to digest when you realize Silas is in over his head and we need a new voice to lead the youth movement. Please let that be Abdelfattah. Definitely a hell no to Lucas or Hollins!

 

It's like in little leagues where the know-it-all parent thinks they know more than the coach.

Except in this instance, I very well do truly believe Mrs Eason knows more about basketball than 'coach'.
