One of the perks of being young, people forget and forgive ya. Said it already.

    Leniency but no immunity.

tbf, i didn't watch much blazers games except postgame highlights, but it's said that, this season when dam rests on bench this blazers still run functionally well, think about who they added during the summer:
    jerami grant
    josh hart
    shaedon sharpe (rook)
    gary payton ii
    pretty solid buncha players.

You nailed it. Very nice analysis. I can't help but think that TF is very happy with the outcome so far. I wonder... hypothetically if we get a top pick, will Silas all of a sudden morph into a better X and O guy? A better leader? Because right now looking pretty bad. But is it by design?

These players are just not good. Talented yes. Disciplined enough to know when and how to attack and shoot or pass? Hell no. They show no composure in pressure for the exemption of KPJ since he’s a vet and Sengun because he’s played with grown men on his national team

Thats not fair. Silas is devaluating Stone high picks. You can lose, no problem with that, thats gonna happen naturally when you have such a young team, but It seems theres nothing good these players are learning in those hard loses. And thats a problem because this team have at least 3 or 4 super talented young players

IDK if all these Zoomers feel that way…

I just believe if we had the best coaching staff in the league over the off-season it would just net us maybe 5 at most additional wins over the season.

I think young players need to play through mistakes in order to get the reps. I think benching is appropriate but not to be overused.

This is the last year that the Rockets will be accepting of losing 55-60 games. This draft is basically an average NBA draft but it has two guys that would normally go #1 thrown on top, so it is overall a very good to great draft in the top 5-7 picks. Someone like Amen Thompson would have gone #1 of #2 in last year's draft and he is at best going #3-5 in this draft. The point being, even if a team doesn't get the #1-2 pick in this draft, there is a lot of value in the top 4-5 picks. So, if you are a team with a really bad record, tanking is still of value in this draft.

Next year the Rockets begin their draft obligations to the Thunder. There is no way that ownership is going to want the ridicule and blame that will come with dealing a top 5 pick to OKC. The owner's ego will not allow that to happen, so we will see the Rockets get serious about winning. That will likely mean a new head coach, free agent money spent (probably not wisely) and pressure to win.

It just seems to me that there is some projecting going on when the totality of this teams issues can be laid at the feet of one player by some fans while using terms like 'tunnel vision' and not capturing the whole picture of what ails this team. Its a little ironic. When one player is the only one under the microscope then its just easier to blame that player. Lazy, but easy. This team may very well have an edict in place to tank and all this tug of war going on is just screaming into the void.

Absolutely. No one player is to blame. Just like I do not believe it's all on Silas. Plenty of blame to go around. I imagine the tug of war is here to stay. We could win the championship and folks would still be screaming into the void. I know tonight I'll be sitting back, popcorn by my side and enjoying the ride.

Rebuilding a team basically from scratch does not happen in 1 or 2 years. It's going to take time to learn to play as a team. In the meantime I believe Stone and TF are fine with the progress and want to be in the mix come lottery time.

the team lacks leadership - of ANY kind....

Silas is a nice guy n all - but he should be running these kids platoon sargeant style - a disciplinarian... not getting all touchy feely emotional with em - thats what u use an assistant for - so u retain some distance... later after you've climbed the mountain together u have the bond - but for now u need to be the possible hammer that can drop... imo...

Closest thing we got to vet leadership is Ego.... love Ego n all... but he aint gonna get in these kids faces - nor is it his job to do so....

This is the 'lag' i've been complaining about... this is why u start building the culture from day one - not go get a bunch of kids with potential - and then try to figure out your game plan...

Imo... we're just wasting time at this point...

we should be running the same scripted plays to ad nauseam at this point - getting them ingrained.... running the same plays interchanging personnel... finding the best combos - and refining the others.... we should be running pick and roll moves repeatedly.... basics basics basics.... building the foundation and getting everyone clearly defined roles within the set plays...

instead... we're just rollin the ball out there... and lettin 'em do whatever...

Silas is not a head coach.

This Buffon has Sengun who the offense should be running through but he settles and alows a one dimensional chucker with no playmaking ability who literally makes no one better in Green be the main man. The level of ineptitude with this man is astonishing. Even McHale was a better coach and that’s saying whole lot

Jalen Green wasn't playing so selfishly the first two games or so, but these last few have been horrific. Him and KPJ have been utter trash and very much the worst guard tandem in the league right now. No chemistry whatsoever. Feels like a lot of that has to do with KPJ being an iso chucker while being the PG and main decision maker for the team. With KPj just chucking shot after shot or dribbling the air out of the ball, everyone else is now just looking for their own, not knowing when they're going to touch the ball next. Doesn't help that Silass can't control any one of his players and always has the worst rotations.

The whole team is a **** show right now. Absolutely no gameplan or organization. Only a matter of time before the excitement of a new season fades and we'll be seeing blowout loss after blowout loss soon, just like last season and the year before.

Fu**in fire Silass already before this trash loser mentality stains the team for the next decade.

A lot of people over complicating this. Rockets roster sucks. Old undersized SG starting at the 3. Another SG who is erratic and inconsistent playing point. Undersized center who can’t defend and focuses too much on stupid flashy passing. No back up PG. A PF who simply sucks at finishing at the rim and getting to the paint. And a coach that isn’t right for this job. This is where we are at.

I think the league would like to see a V Wemb/Green pairing. Starting to think thats why they gave Rockets a brutal schedule first couple weeks. Really want to see how this team looks at the end of the year and excited about the possibilities of the draft. Hopefully Smith and Tari develops into solid players and Green continues to progress to stardom and beyond. This would be a victory for Rockets fans and hope for the future.
