KPJ: Can someone explain to me why he has become Clutchfans favorite whipping boy?

You’re actually defending rafer? 07-08 rafer ok maybe if I’m being insanely generous , but there’s a reason we made our biggest jump after shoo ing him away.

 

The biggest thing to me has always been his efficiency. Apologies to anyone who reads my posts regularly because this is like the 20th time I've said this but I don't think you can be an effective/positive combo guard in today's NBA if you aren't efficient. It's a base requirement, if you aren't efficient, nothing else really matters. And KPJ hasn't figured out how to do that. It could be shot selection, it could be decision making, learning how to get to the line more, or anything else, but his efficiency has always been my biggest problem with him. His TS% in his first 3 years was 53%, 53% and 53%. And this year it is 53%. That's just not good enough in my opinion.

His passing in general also hasn't really improved as much as I would like, if you compare his assists (or potential assists) to other players with his usage and role. There are a few moments each game where it seems like he misses the easy read, or doesn't make the right play. I think he has enormous potential in this area especially, he has had some really impressive flashes here, but he needs to be more consistent.

Anyway those are the two biggest things that I was looking forward to this year, and neither look to have improved compared to prior years. It's only 5 games, there's plenty of season left. But in these first 5 games he's roughly the same as he was last year, and the year before, in both areas. Some guys pop off the screen and look way better than the year before right out of the gate (Jalen Green, for example) and KPJ hasn't done that. So that's what I meant by "not promising."

 

It’s not even really opinion. It’s fact. In a league where the average is ~56.5%, being below that on high volume is not good enough.

He had a great 4th quarter tonight, but in the end for the game his TS% was 50.5% bringing his season # down to 52.7%.

 

KPJ played his ass off in the 2nd half, without any help from his coach with play calls and sets, and picks and screens and movement off the ball.

Literally SILAS is asking him and Green to do it by themselves.....I am afraid Silas is not the answer we need a new coach to TEACH our young team, not just go....Oh well, they are young.

**** THAT.....BE RESPONSIBLE - BE ACCOUNTABLE....I didn't believe it was possible but Silas is a worse coach than his father.....someone dust of Adeleman or JVG before we waste another development year on mr. ho hum do nothing.

I give KPJ credit for playing well down the stretch but it was a lot of the same bad decision making early on.

I said it b4 when posters hate a player like sengun, u will see them resort to saying stupid sht like what jigglyfly been sayin. U call them out on the shtty behavior u get accused of being a sengun only fan.

I have now learn to just ignore that idiot and not waste any further time with said poster.

 

I especially like how the king of the clown parade clamored over his catch and shoot percentages.

Meanwhile to start the season, I could probably count on one finger the amount of times he's had a catch and shoot.

Because every possession he needs to do his me-me-me Harden dribble impersonations.

He is just a scorer in my opinion, okay, he can facilitate better than JGreen at this moment but that is not saying much.

He can stat pad.

Rafer was hilarious, they made a streetball king a team oriented player, although a very flawed one, that itself is nothing but a small miracle.

What does it have to do being a new member? Maybe you should tell me how much of a development KPJ has achieved after 2 whole seasons? I would say his tunnel vision has been the same since beginning.

Better yet why dont you tell me more about how Alperen Sengun is the only chance this team has to win! That is really refreshing from you Euro guys - really have that game of basketball figured out!

 

I think you have been way too casual that you got nothing to say on KPJ… way more casual than a new member. Sengun? Why did you involve him in this conversation? Maybe you are such a hater that you can’t feel relax without mentioning him in a sentence. Learn some manners kiddo. You're the guests here - you should be the one with the respect and manners. Dont think you get to pile on with the others and enjoy that "fun" without getting the same energy thrust back. If you cant see the positives within KPJs game and only want to focus on his negatives then you are biased way too much to be taken serious especially for a noob who's still wet behind the ears.

mentioning how awful he plays as a PG makes me a prick then let it be. I said he is talented in his own ways but that doesn’t make the team better at all. No worries that you are the one with the gold star, or you think you are special or something.
