U see kpj fans do it all.

Reject the usage of data discussion b/c it might make KPJ look bad, make data up to prop KPJ up and pretend to use data to slander other rockets player. Can't wait until KPJ actually becomes good or he gets traded to so this type of weird behavior from these folks can stop.

he is more like a street hooper dribbling all day long non stop. This never translates to a winning ball culture.

correct. That contract is structured in such a way it can be combined to bring back tons of salary while still taking a flyer on a good roleplayer

lol. In that case Westbrook has the most valuable contract that can net us another superstar.

yeah, I think this is right, he has dual value, either to a team that WANTS him, or to a team that wants to shed salary.

KPJ has $60 million worth in incentives to figure this out. I’m sure he is trying to figure how to be the best point guard for our team. Let’s give him at least 20 games people

Jabari is a rookie as well. KPJ should be above him in the pecking order and I’m sure the rockets & Silas instruct KPJ to score. His scoring talent is the only reason we are allowing this experiment. I’m sure they’re not exactly telling him to pass first

Talking has harmed nobody. The team gave him his contract, doesn't matter if we give him 20 games or 80 games.

That's not an apples to apples comparison. Let's see the issue:
    • Westbrook is an aging has-been.
    • Westbrook no longer has the "potential" label attached to him.
    • Westbrook's contract is a lot harder to match.
    • KPJ is a young player which shows potential and could be a really good player when used correctly. We know he is damn talented.
    • KPJ's contract starts at $16M first year, which is a lot easier to match.
    • KPJ has an incentive to be on his best behavior based on the type of contract he signed.

We aren't trading him, Stone is not Morey, he has settled on KPJ and Green as two dynamic starting guards and he will give them years to try to make it work.

And small minded people will continue to b**** about traditional PG this and that, when that thinking died about 12 -15 years ago.

Being "damn talented" doesn't mean much if you can't involve your teammates in games as a POINT GUARD. What he does now is very similar to Westbrook, stat padding. Unfortunately, KPJ isn't as talented and athletic as Westbrook, who could assist, drive to the rim and score at will during his prime. None of the competitive teams would even match his contract.

Okay, that's not really the point of my post. Just wanted to point out that it wasn't an apples to apples comparison. My position on KPJ as a PG is stated in this thread. Hell it's after the OP.

He actually does kinda remind me of Rafer a little bit. Same annoying does 2 good things then 3 bad things. Except the difference is that we didn't ever prioritize Rafer over Mcgrady/Yao.

    I prefer

    Henderson
    Green
    Tari
    Bari
    Alpi

    or

    Green
    Tari
    Bari
    Alpi
    Wemby

(who needs a PG with that lineup...right? right? :D)

Rafer couldn't shoot the 3ball like KPJ - but Rafer was an elite dribbler of the basketball and a plus defender.

You and I are seeing eye to eye on this. The Rockets believe in this kid. And he's talented enough that it's a gamble worth taking at this stage.
