Im starting to fall in love with the idea of taking an edge and DT with the first two picks and then finding a stud LB in the 2nd round to put next to Christian Harris.

I don't think he's the worst QB in the league. I just don't think he'll ever be a franchise qb. He could certainly be average and that's the worst outcome, because we aren't winning anything of worth with an average qb and simultaneously we'd be like the Colts where you also don't have the resources to get a franchise qb.

I can see I think more highly of Mills than you do.

I really think more highly of the 2024 QB class.

There will be a franchise qb in this years draft. Not trying to stay stuck in neutral and running this guy back at qb next season. No thank you. Hell if we had a decent qb might have a shot at the division this season.

Yeah, I can't believe people are for the idea of not drafting a QB in round 1.

The only way you don't is if you're signing Lamar Jackson or something. Would love to see the meltdowns that would cause.

Thats nice and all, but Easterby is no longer here to make that a necessity. CJ and Bryce are big on their Christian faith too.

I 1000% GUARANTEE YOU THAT THE COLTS PICK A QB IN THIS DRAFT.

The attitude of building a team and just putting anybody at QB does not work! It never has. The Texans need to draft a QB this yr.

Do you think this team is ready to compete? Why waste years of a rookie QB deal while filling out the roster? The QB talent from this years draft to the next is comparable it wouldnt be the end of the year if the Texans waited an extra year while filling the other 20 holes on the team.

If the qb you pick is a franchise qb, the team has the resources over the next 2 years in both cap space and draft capital to compete. If you're waiting to throw a rookie on to a team that's already good, well that first year is probably going to be wasted anyway. If the team is good enough right now for Mills to compete, and I think it is because we could have won at least half of the games this year with a better qb, then it will definitely be good enough for a rookie next year and then in 2024, we should be ready to really compete. Its an aggressive timeline, but certainly possible in the AFC South.

I want to know why you think 2024 is better than 2023? After I look at the Top 5 prospects for each yr I can truly say that 2023 has just as much as 2024.

    2023 Class vs 2024 Class
    Young = Williams
    CJ > Maye
    Levis > Ewers
Hooker < JJ McCarthy( Because of age)
Penix > Jaxson Dart & Jalen Milroe

These are just QBs rated in the top 5 as of right now. So I don't understand the philosophy of waiting on something that's not going to be so much more better than your chance to pick a QB NOW. Besides, if you're not picking #1 next yr, William's will be gone....SO NOW WHAT?

Penix is not rated top 5 in this class. Hooker may not even be.

And no, Levis and Stroud are not better than Ewers and Maye.
Williams is a much higher upside guy than Bryce

Williams has higher physical upside, but there's no guarantee that he'll ever match him mentally. I'd give slight edge to Williams, but I prefer Young. Ewers so far has not been better than Stroud in any way other than he has higher physical traits. Levis I agree is worse than Maye and possibly Ewers. I don't like to rate Hooker, because I personally wouldn't take a guy that old and in such a gimmicky offense.

Stroud is the least physically gifted of all of them, he’s polished as a passer.
But it’s yet to be seen on if it will translate, he would be the first.
Levis is a high boom or bust guy, but he’s the best physically of all mentioned. Not as fast as Williams but bigger, stronger and an elite arm.

Maye is the total package imo, size, arm, legs, production and youth

First of all, I knew when I made that post that some will object but some would agree as well. The only unanimous player we all decided on is Williams and he's assured to go number 1. All of the others are guesses!

And what makes us so sure we'll get the #1 pick next yr. What if Carolina, New Orleans, Jacksonville or Tampa Bay decides to tank? Brady is not looking good right now, Jacksonville is not too happy with Sunshine, New Orleans don't have their #1 picks this yr, so they would be tanking next yr and Carolina could be tanking again next yr AND as bad as the Texans are now, they still don't have the #1 pick.

So, to set back and wait on something you're not 100% for sure of makes absolutely NO SENSE. You draft a QB while you can, while you're in position.

Michael Penix Jr is my Sleeper. Loves the way he surveys the field. He's athletic, he has the size and the arm.

Penix impressed early on in the season, and he had perhaps his best performance in Week 7 against the Arizona Wildcats. Washington defeated Arizona 49-39 behind a 516-yard, four-touchdown performance by Penix. He did so while completing 81.8-percent of his passes (36-of-44)
