I think to the OP it comes down to trust and holding him to a higher standard than our two young prospects. He’s young but been in the league for a minute.

I was only weary of him moving forward because of the contract unknowns and the potential to overpay. Now that it’s settled and a good contract, I think the bar should be lowered back down.

It’s really an on-going conversation as to whether he needs to start or come off the bench. To have that conversation though it starts with evaluating how Jalen and Jabari are getting good looks and what they need to be successful. I personally want to see Jalen more with the ball in his hands but we just need to see how they do and grow.

So imo it’s just a wait and see now with KPJ, but I’m struggling to understand why anyone would just say “trade him he sucks blah blah..”.

He doesn't have to screw the pooch. The Rockets could just use him as an asset and trade him. He's the most valuable trade asset in the league now

I think Stone has said some dumb things too that no one in their right mind would tak seriously. He said he felt Nix was a lottery talent. I don't think anyone honestly believes KPj needs the ball more if this team is trying to win. I'm of the belief (mainly for my own sanity) that the Spurs just did with Murray what the Rockets are trying to do with KPj. Plump him up, put some lipstick on him, and trade him to a desperate wannabe contender for 2 first rounders. Or maybe a first and a second.

Stone has been great at evaluating and drafting talent. He's hit on 4 so far. Not bad. But his actual poker face has been laughably bad. He got a late 1st for Wood and still hasn't found a home for Gordo. I think he got duped with Paolo as well. This whole strategy they have of getting these reclamation projects and turning them into FRPs hasn't been working out particularly well.

I refuse to believe they're *that* dumb. But maybe your right. I mean...someone greenlit that Million Dollar Rides show on TNT. Maybe I still think too highly of people's mental capacity.

I think you're confused, all they did was make him tradeable. He won't ever see the last 3 years of that contract.

Statistically he's playing excellent as did Monta Ellis. Like I said in the Green thread, I don't mind turnovers. It's one thing when you see an open teammate and the pass gets deflected/ stolen but to not look for them that's just deflating. But that's what comes with having the ball in your hands and being the PG, you're the floor general. Credit to KPJ for wanting to take on that role. I'd be like.."Green is the point guard, blame him!"
He is 22, one year completed in that position, with talent and lots of room to improve. So I'm hoping Silas irons that out as to not build bad habits.
Very reminiscent of the Mchale years.

I don’t hate KPJ or talk down on him. He is who he is- a glorified 6th man.

If we didn’t have Jalen he’d be our 2 guard. Unfortunately he’s placed in the point guard role and he’s just not a point guard. So naturally his performance isn’t gonna be peak.

If he came off the bench as a 6th man scorer for say the Mavs or someone like that it would be a perfect situation.

absolutely he won't ever see...I expect him to leave the court in the middle of some game. Mentally unstable.

Ohhh, I know that, I have said that since the day we drafted Green, that they are the same player - and one will probably have to go....so they are building up KPJ's value, right?

    Good for the org, right?

    So, let's go !

You are 100% wrong. They may not all be here, but he will get them. Stop rooting against what is good for the team.

What does he need to "figure out" ?

It seems since he has gotten progressively better at most things he seems to have "figured out" a hell of a lot.

    21/7/6 is not promising?

Yeah, it's very hard to see why a guy putting up those numbers locked up for a couple of years and still young that people would not like him.

I think KPJ is a small forward who can score 20 points a game, play defense, nice 3 and D player and can rebound. We are like the Suns 3 years ago once we get that leader or Floor General like Chris Paul we are going places. Talent like Green, Porter, Jabari, Sengun, Tari and KJM with that Veteran Leadership we are going places.

    LOL.

Are you still going on about this?

It's very telling that you are going to this length to "destroy" me.

It's obvious I was using hyperbole to make a point maybe I went a bit to far but I can't believe you are investing this much time and effort to come at me.

    Ok you "destroyed" me.

Do you need a cigarette now?

For about five posters (who happen to be completely irrational KPJ only fans at the same time), Alpi is.

I think the expectations on Gary, Nix and Usman are so low to begin with that they do not really make good whipping boys. Frustrated posts usually result from disappointment in players where the expectations were high.

    How about Jrue Holiday?

He just won a championship last year.

KPJ does not dominate the ball.

Jrue Holiday has 22% usage rate and KPJ has a 24% and he plays with much worse players.

If anyone is really stupid enough to think KPJ resembles Jrue Holiday you have to be beyond stupid
