You going have to show me this more controlled KPJ. KPJ is a bucket yes, but he is also a PG and never passes unless he is in the air and in trouble. That no pouting sh*t is probably incentive based.

If we don’t want ISOing 1 on 5 then we need to change the offense because that’s all we do.

Ill give you free throws (maybe), but KPJ has always been the rockets best ball-handler and he has always been a good rebounder and he has been an elite catch and shoot 3pter. He has not improved in the one thing we need him to improve at - being a good PG. (so far)

Jalen subbed out at the 54 second mark of the 3rd and then subbed in for KPJ at the 6:47 mark of the 4th. KPJ comes back in at the 4:49 mark and then froze Jalen?? Might want to watch the last 7 minutes of the game over again.

EG and KPJ were running point.

So Ill blame the trio of Silas, EG and KPJ for freezing out Jalen, my fault.

Just make sure you always have someone to blame.

Jalen is not Jabari and dependent on guard play to determine his success. Kid had just dropped a quarter piece on the Jazz heads in the 3rd and you think they were going to let him roam free and keep killing them? How do you recommend the "point guards" remove the one and two defenders shading Jalen? Jalen was able to get to the rim at the 3:12 mark and missed the layup. Rest of the game the only ROX offense was a couple of layups, 1 KJ 3 pointer and a bunch of free throws - you want to force feed Jalen in order to lose games to "development" ??

That’s what I have been saying. He only got better at the things he was already good at. I don’t think the coaching staff asks him to get better at the things he is not good at. So everyone is happy.

Sometimes it feels like they think KPJ is the franchise player

I want kpj to learn how to pass instead of driving into 5 guys in the paint just to waste a possession or two. It felt like the last few possession was him trying to b a hero and fail. When it works it works, but it looks awful when it doesn't. We should have won handily but they caught up cause kpj wanted to b da hero, instead of looking for open teammates.

I recall some posters thought we were gonna lose near the end due to poor offense possessions

KPJ isn’t going to play differently. That career 53 TS% is here to stay. We need to be using him differently, and we should not be sacrificing the development of our more efficient scorers to appease him. You don’t play a Luka/Harden system without Luka/Harden.

With a slight adjustment to his shot profile and the elimination of his incessant dribbling via a corners-esque offense, KPJ would become hyper efficient. Optimize him and let everyone else touch the ball.

Actually he didn’t play the entire 4th. He started it, then checked out for a few min. He returned around 4:30 left in the game. Just get your facts right, come on

    Serious question my snarky friend.

Do you expect that he will start making these mid-range shots, or any shots after 2-3-4 dribbles?

If there was a yellow brick road to that ending, I’d change my tune, but I don’t see it. Fool’s errand to expect it, respectfully speaking. It is way more likely that Green/Jabari/Sengun develop high efficiency scoring.

what are you even talking about? Jalen was coming off Screens to get the ball, was open and KPJ would never make the pass. KPJ is looking at Jalen and would just run into the paint. At one point Kelly O was on Jalen and KPJ still didnt throw it to him.

If Silas wants Jabari/Sengun to “sacrifice” so that JG gets more time on ball, I totally understand.

When we start sacrificing JG/Jabari/Sengun for more KPJ dribbling, I can’t help but be concerned. We don’t have to play that way. KPJ can still get his looks without him going Curly Neal every damn game.

You can’t disregard improvement because it’s not in the areas that you prefer.

He’s not a natural PG. We’ve known that for 2 years.
