I definitely want more ball movement. I do get frustrated seeing Bari missed in the corner a lot. Our guys need to look up, there was a moment where Tari was wide open on a breakaway and Green missed him since he was looking down rather than looking ahead for the open man. I loved the Tari/Usman energy. Can anyone post that clip of the offensive rebounding sequence where they simply would not give up? One other hope, can we please get more layup drills going, I don't know how our guys miss so many easy ones.
Silas still can't see that Martin CAN NOT PLAY THE PF. Put him at the SF position, his position. Garuba played well in Milwaukee, why don't you start him next to Jabari against Olynyk/Markkanen? We lose the rebounding. They scored 66 points in the paint... We have multiple bigs this year, and STILL I got to see the freaking Martin as a PF doing damage. Also, Garuba is constantly moving his body in the offense with cuts, screens, fighting for the offensive rebound. You need more of that on a team of ballers that lacks ball and body movement. Please, no more Kenyon Martin at PF.
Absolutely! It’s gonna be interesting when the entire squad is healthy. We should absolutely win tomorrow as well. Jabari at the 5 opens three floor so much for driving lanes
Yes, many stats cited by others should be taken with a grain of salt. With an asterisk. Rockets have played 3 top notched teams and the supposed cup cake in Utah was undefeated. Jazz beat a couple of good teams. So some games are played beautiful and we lose while some are ugly and we win. The difference in the Milwaukee game was in the first quarter where we were blown out because our players had to adjust to a back to back. Hard fought game vs Grizz in Houston and then flew to Milwaukee the next day. We came out flat. The stats are going to be reflective of that. By mid November things will look better.
Would love to see the sequence before the timeout so we could take a guess on what they were talking about. I don’t understand some saying Jabari is a rook and she good in his place. Most of the time, your big is your anchor. He sees the floor (defensively) better than anyone because he’s in the back. Not to mention, he’s probably our best defensive player. I’d listen to what he has to say. Also, we know the incumbents know we’re tanking. We’ve seen quotes of Jalen saying losing doesn’t matter right now. Jabari might not understand that memo because we’ve heard him say all he wants to do is win. Side note: when it comes to Eric Gordon being the only one able to drink, that’s why he’s so calm. He’s out there playing with his nephews and know he’s going to drink later.
@maj21 Utah schedule: Denver ( Jokic ) win @Minn (KAT and Gobert......Gobert had 23 rebounds) win @Pels ( Valancunas ) win @ Rockets ( Jabari ) Lost [ skinny center ]
Jazz were on a b2b, need more sample size b4 folks think a rookie at center is the right move. I rather we have sengun or usman man the center
Didn't the Rockets out rebound and outscore the Jazz in the 1st Quarter with KJ? I missed the 2nd half, I'll probably watch it later today but in the 1st they were absolutely out rebounding them and missing easy outbacks.
Has anybody else noticed a lack of conditioning/stamina from our players? Being such a young team, this should be a strength. The bunches of turnovers happen when our guys are all gasping for air with hands on their knees and the other team looks fresh.
This is multiple games now we're opposing fans or TV guys saying how quiet our arena is. My concern is these young guys see how shitty Toyota center is atmosphere wise compared to other arenas where it will be part of their decision making process on whether they leave after we lose control.
What losing team has a loud atmosphere? Potential to win will decide not the current crowd during the franchise's low point
We've had shitty crowds when this team was winning 65 games. And Toyota center is extra quiet even for a bad team. Other opposing fans and TV guys have also been to arenas with bad teams. It's the relative difference that's concerning. Toyota center shouldn't have been built in downtown. Honestly should have just rebuilt on top of the Compaq center. That location was easy to access right off 59.
Yet the Rockets still have free agents. The location of the Toyota Center is not the problem. The biggest problem is design, which is why the Rockets lower bowl is so terrible. Even during those 65 win teams the upper bowl was plenty crowded and VERY loud. It's getting people in the lower bowl to be in their seats vs milling around the suites.
You're correct 1st half - the Rockets outrebounded Utah 29-20, including 10-2 offensive boards. 2nd half - the exact opposite - 29-18 Utah including 16-7 offensive
Silas is clueless. He was raving about our players conditioning lol so if he was right he fucced it up or was lying in the first place
There was more than one offensive possession when we did a great job getting into the set, but unfortunately, four guys stayed in the set and didn't move while KPJ went iso. No movement at all, no working to get easier shots, one person touching the ball. And let's not talk about the substitution patterns. This is a young team--very young--but they deserve better coaching and will not reach their potential until they do. On the flip side, there were also some really good defensive turns, with active feet and appropriate switching that forced turnovers or bad shots. How much of that was our defense vs the Jazz having no legs is open to debate, but what is not debatable is the lack of consistency. It's made more apparent because you see the possibilities. Again, coaching.
