Rockets are the second-youngest team in the league, but the youngest team is far more disciplined than us.

The defense is still a major problem. I’m not too upset about this one because there’s really no way they were going to hang with Milwaukee, but damn that defense needs to get better. I don’t think it’s effort either. They play hard most of the time with an occasional mental breakdown here and there, they just aren’t good defensively at all.

There were a few very embarrassing leak outs for a NBA defense.

But yes at the end of the day this is the Bucks. Also the Bucks were uncharacteristically lights out from three. Very few teams could handle a team like the Bucks being that hot from three. That really sealed the rest of the game.

Despite the loss, I saw some positives, the most impressive was how we kept fighting. I saw us make runs when it looked like a 15-20 pt lead could've easily ballooned to 30-40 points. Instead we had a couple of good possessions in a row and kept it within 10-15. This could've lead to a comeback if we had the talent, wasn't a back-to-back and Giannis wouldn't get such a favorable whistle while our rookies get ridiculous calls. Of course in the end with line-ups and guys who haven't played together, the rookies and end of bench players, it was always going to be a 20+ blowout.

Individually I was not thrilled by most of our players, but I have to say that I loved what I saw again what Green brought on defense on top of his elite offensive skills. I saw great hustle from Sengun again. Jabari had his transition stroke ready again, played some very solid individual defense on Giannis - who is just too strong to be stopped - and Garuba was great too. He plays with a lightness, quickly and that 3pt shot looked okay on top of some solid defense. Tari again with solid defense, hustle and some shot making.

The rest was not that impressive. I was very displeased what I saw from KPJ, jumping in the air before making a decision, again not finding open guys, moving into crowded spaces. This was not just KPJ though, Green, Jabari and KMJ all suffered from attacking for the sake of attacking, which due to combination of bad spacing and Bucks' length was just not smart. We showed our youth, we showed our fatigue and showed why we still have long ways to go. Length wise cannot wait for us to play bigger once Jabari gets a bit stronger and potentially adding Wemby.

There were some moments where our players were fighting for clear rebounds that we almost lost just because 2-3 guys went after it. Not necessarily a bad thing, on the contrary, but I had a feeling they wanted it for stats at times and there was definitely some arguing. When they watch film, surely it will be addressed. Overall definitely not a game to draw conclusions from. In regards to Nix, Josh, Matthews and Trevor I definitely don't see something that stuck out as positive aside from the impressive lay-up by Nix and shot by Trevor.

Matthews has not shown a damn thing to warrant time in these 3 games, but surely he will continue to get minutes to bump up some trade value. If he can get on a hot streak in a few games, where he hits a few threes, maybe some team is dumb enough to throw a 2nd round pick at us for him. Josh has long ways to go too. Silas I am trying not to judge too harshly as I could see him having his reasons for certain line-ups, rotations etc. Gauging which guys play well together for example.

The overreactions are totally unnecessary, unwarranted and kind of funny. Embrace the process :)

I know I sound like I just mirror the excuses, but - this was a pretty good game as a learning experience:

Green and KPJ especially need to work on finishing close to the basket with big, strong defenders around. They struggled mightily today at that - the also went against one of the toughest opponents imaginable. They should watch film and practice exactly that to find out, how to still either score, draw a foul or pass to the open teammates when driving against Giannis and Lopez.

Jabari hit his 3s but struggled on his long twos. I have seen step back and fadaway misses. Right now, those are bad shots for him because he doesn‘t hit them at a high enough rate (and didnt‘ do that in college either). But he absolutely should incorporate them into his repertoire to become more of a complete player - and with his technique and high release he should be able to improve them. So I am fine with him taking them in a game like this.

Jabaris defense was pretty good. But he also got a taste of the strength and speed of the NBA. I still think he defended Giannis the best on our team today and had 3 pretty good stops. But he never faced an opponent like him in his life before. He should look a lot of tape to find ways, to better defend against guys that are stronger than him.

Jabari has already said, that looking at Giannis developement motivates him. He is said to be a gym rat, so thats a good sign.

I don‘t care about winning right now. And we have played three teams that all should easily make the playoffs and hope, that they will compete for a championship this year (with two of those games on the road and one being a back to back). I want to continue to see growth in our rookies from last year and I want to see Jabari add more layers to his game and hit around 38-40% of his threes. And at that I am completely fine, with how the season started. And if we end up with another high draft pick this year, I would be fine with that as well.

Yeah, he will. That was kind of my message to you. We have agreement on him having some things he has to wok on. He'll have ups and downs, as will everyone. Last game he had one rebound (agree unacceptable)..this game 11. First game he had 21 pts...I think 13 tonight. If you look at post, I am critical as well as anyone on Bari. But, no one one is stopping GA...Tari,Bari, Sengun,Garuba and pretty much the rest of the league. I rather suspect that we will struggle against teams with bigs like Utah,Minn, and on and on. I think the fact the game started with Bari at the 5 speaks volumes about our interior D.

Eason had 3 blocks out of our 6. We need more shot blocking. They had 10 blocks, which makes a big difference at the rim.

If only KPJ passed the ball in the 1st quarter like he does in the second half

I’ve never been a x & o guy in knowing systems but they seem to run the same play every play

I don’t expect us to be good for a while, but where is the “playing fast” and the improved defense. Garuba played great and should be getting all of Fernando’s minutes going forward. He showed last night why you don’t give up on a second year player (talking to you DD). KPJ had a bad game despite a decent stat line. He was very indecisive and the whole team was not pushing the ball up the court with any kind of aggression. Nix and Matthews do not belong in the league and why they are getting any minutes at all is beyond my understanding. Tari, JG, and Garuba were the only one’s with shining moments. Sengun was ok and when the rest of the offense is not working we should feature him in the post. When it gets down to it, Silas is a joke of a coach and the sooner we jettison hm the better. How hard is it to make sure one of KPJ or JG are on the court at all times? Any other coach in the league could manage the rotations better that Silas.

you should always feature sengun in the post...its the most efficient and the least volatile(unlike 3pt chucking) play in basketball...

Wemby’s rim protection is gonna be big for us next year. Seeing how Lopez just erased everything at the rim, shows what our defense is missing. And yes, my gut tells me we’re gonna get the number one pick lol

Probably the most frustrating part about the beginning of the season. I expected loses against these experienced playoff caliber teams but we were promised a fast paced offense and most of our possessions take 15+ seconds to get going.

Ya and then we turn into the 2000s Elton Brand/Maggatee Clippers full of lottery pick talent with no idea how to win games. Wemy and Green can be the next Brand and Maggatee.

Michael Jordan wouldn't be able to finish on Giannis and Lopez in the manner that KPJ and Green were trying to attack them. He would know that's his que to dominate in the mid range area. Hence Green really needs to work on his floater game. You aren't going to be able to consistently finish on every player especially someone like Giannis. You need to be able to see the block threat and incorporate floaters and middies.

Look at Ja. Even with his explosive finishing ability he still incorporates the floater really well because he understands that even he can get rejected to the netherworld by guys like Giannis.
