I hate to bring it up again, but Jabari Smith pulling down one board all game was a major problem.

Not meaning to defend him but I think he started pressing....I absolutely think he is being vastly underutilized stationing him on the 3 point line on the wings. Don't see a lot from the top of the key which he has done well in the past. Me personally I think he must feel as though he's not there at times. He wasn't good tonight but I too would give him all he wants wide open. Absolutely didn't see his normal intensity tonight.

I really like this team, they are just young and it's going to take them time to grow. I believe by the middle.part of the season, we will see a different team.

I still think we need a different coach to maximize the talent.
I think Silas is a fine human being, I’d trust my kids with him.
But I don’t think he’s got the right mentality to grow this team

Y'all acting like I said he played bad. He was great today. Saying he should have the ball more and taken more shots is somehow a bad thing?
The disrespect Memphis has by putting a white guy on him. He should have demanded the ball every time down the court.

Completely agree. We’ll lose a decent number of games, but we’ll also win a decent number as well, and they’ll be fun to watch all season.

The fun aspect is what’s keeping us all going. I enjoy watching our youngsters grow.

Forget his shooting (yeah, rough night), 1 rebound in 35 minutes (or the same number as Josh Christopher in 3 minutes)

This is a game where Tate was greatly missing. Needed better defense in the 4th quarter, and there was none.

Very enjoyable game and I wish we had won. I see this year as a win-win situation: players get one more year to develop their craft, and we get a chance to draft a good to great player.

My point is that literally nobody on the Rockets had a chance at stopping Morant.

The evidence for this is that not one of them stopped him and nearly all of them tried.

    Kpj no.
    Green no.
    Gordon no.
    Smith no.
    Sengun lol no.
    Bru no.

Your evidence is that "Morant WAS stopped late in the game" - you literally must have watched a different game because he got wherever he wanted and whatever shot he wanted, which is why he probably the best off the dribble player on the planet, and, oh, you know scored 49!!!

I think the Rockets contested a few shots or passoffs late after they had pulled ahead. Not relevant.

I'm going to rewatch and let you know if you're right here but you're probably wrong again.

larry bird said it himself. I quote..

"As far as playing, I didn't care who guarded me -- red, yellow, black. I just didn't want a white guy guarding me.Because it's disrespect to my game."

Was it Laravia you were talking about?
If so. He was one of the best defenders in all of college basketball last season and is one of the most agile guys to come out in a long time.

and a 148.6 defensive rating. Team worst and that's saying something when Christopher is at 137.5. If the ankle is still bothering him, get healthy. Smith's not having an impact and that his calling card. Very tentative on D.

So it looks like we have to sit through this losing-on-purpose rubbish again for another season.
