everyone's wrong. You can't convince me a single person on this BBS thought a 1 year guranteed in a 4 year contract was even within the realm of possibilities.
Yeah the pro extension team got what they were always talking about. But so did the anti extension team. He's not locked up long term, and that was the biggest concern. I don't see the difference.
He has redeemed himself for everything in my eyes because of this. He scored a second-round knockout of Aaron Carter in June 2021 ~after video review~ Never mind it was child abuse.
Good Lord. Almost 20 mil in incentives??? This contract is crazy. Not complaining, but it’s certainly not a typical NBA contract.
The contract is very well structured. And there were good reasons to structure it that way. The delusional folks who thought he would get guarantees in the range of Jordan Poole couldn't have been more wrong. That said, I hope he keeps improving and maturing and earns every dollar on the contract. Most importantly, he must stop ignoring everyone but Green and Fernando.
Only a few days into the season and Houston has only played one game, but the “way too early” good sign. League Average TS% : 54.9% KPJ TS% : 55.3% Slightly above average and a couple percentage points above his career. Hopefully that continues and gets even better.
Young guys will go up and down based upon matchups.....hopefully he and Green can pound out some consistency. DD
