they weren’t just as sloppy…Sengun had 6 turnovers and 0 assists…he turned it over on 35% of his possessions

 

He was sloppy. 2 of those turnovers should have went to Green and JC.
Even at 4 it’s not good. But he had a lot of positive tonight too, the team played better with him and Tari on the court.
KPJ made a couple nice plays but had some terrible passes, and even worse decisions on when to attack.
Same with Green. They all had their moments that were good, and they all had some really bad moments.
I’m not going to let people **** on Alp and praise other poor play

ummmm.... i thought the whole point of having youngsters and a developmental plan is to develop them into a tight unit... to figure out how to make it all work to maximize everyone's potential... not shy away from 'problematic' line-ups - but to play through them... get comfortable... figure it out... especially viewing this as a 'gap year' and all where we aint that worried about winning... i thought we'd be playing through the difficulties - not trying to mask them...

The evidence for why Bruno started was how he started the game.

The evidence for why Sengun did not was, in part, how he started the game. The other part is his whole erratic game that's hard to fit with others

The Rockets shouldn't hand Sengun starter minutes he didn't earn in preseason or practice - that's also part of developing a team. Recognizing the guys who produce and lineups that work is bigger than who made some no look passes last year.

But anyway Sengun was on the floor at C during the 4th anyway until the last few minutes.

 

Sengun is a risky passer and a bad catcher. Trying to pawn off his turnovers is nahh.

After 10 years plus you’d think they would figure out how to produce a viable platform. Games have been unwatchable so far cause of the lagging and crashes. Pure garbage app.

 

Yeah it is terrible. t is the only way for me to watch the game, so I will keep it. But it is a terrible product.

 

I think people overlooked that maybe KPJ and JG just doesn't fit together. Whenever they are at the floor, regardless who's the center, the offense seems stagnant. The preseason looked great because they were on fire. You won't be on fire the whole season, as Gordon saved a lot of seems to be dead possessions with the first unit. We would have lost so much more if not Gordon. Our guards are natural shooting guards and both need the ball to be effective. Both do not move without the basketball well which allow the opponent sends multiple defenders to deny the drivers. You just don't win basketball games like this. Most fans are getting a magnifying glass on Bruno and Sengun today, but I think they both played relatively well today. Even Sengun has 6 turnovers, he's only -6 in the game. There were a couple of minutes of good basketball when our lineup was Tari-Smith-Sengun-JC-Gordon. A small sample size but the offense looked so much better. We keep searching for an answer on the center position, but maybe the guards positions are actually the Archilles.

 

I'm in Costa Rica on business so missed the first game. Surprised to see Alpi coming off the bench.

Is Bruno are new Tank Commander? If so, how did he get 7 assists and Sengun zero? Inquiring mines want to know!

 

Check your internet service provider, homie - it has been pretty good the last few years when I watch it in the nba app either on my phone/iPad/ or through Apple TV. I’ll admit there has been some bugs in the past but it’s been mostly pretty good the last few years for me watching 82 games a year.

 

Really bizarre move imo

KPJ is not a traditional PG and Jalen isn't necessarily a full playmaker yet. Thats why Sengun does fit into the lineup. Trying to get cute and not play your best players is a coaching blunder.

I like Bruno a lot as a backup. But this team isn't good enough yet to have the luxury of starting a player like him.

 

Do you think Sengun's skills are better suited to playing with the 2nd unit (Josh,Tari,KMJ,Mathews) or with the first unit where he's relegated to a tertiary or worse option stuck in the Christian Wood role.

Its about maximizing both players skills .... You put Sengun with that 2nd unit and let him create offense.
That seems like a win for both Sengun and the team.

 

Yes I am going to judge him on that, because that's also how he played. When he plays differently, I'll give him credit for that. It's that simple.

So how did it go with the ball in his hands against the second unit of a mediocre defensive team? I guess this must be someone else's fault too? Or if I scan the rest of the board will I find you picking straws, ******** on other Rockets to defend Alpi?

You can point to evidence that says something else but the combination of all evidence points to: he has sucked without the ball. We don't want to just run PnR with Alpi there are tons of offensive options on offense and this is a whole team and he is not the franchise player. It doesn't work that way. Some players have earned a higher priority with play on the court and development off the court and in the summer. KPJ killed it in training camp and preseason. Bruno's game suits KPJ and Green more at the moment.

Alpi is one of my favorite players in the NBA not just on the Rockets, but if he starts blaming everything else instead of taking responsibility and winning the starting spot then his career ain't going nowhere. Great talents fizzle out of this league constantly.

Also, I'm a Rockets fan so get the f*ck out of here with sh*tting all over the whole team and staff just because they didn't do everything that suits one player. That's not going to happen for Alpi. I'm not interested in that game. I love this roster and the staff have developed most of the young guys well. They've hired great coaches and they've rebuilt this team in record time. There's nothing wrong here. This is a perfect situation for Sengun and I'm glad he's a Rocket.

 

How are you watching it? Years ago I had league pass through nba.com and would watch in the nba app and it was horrible. Then I bought it through Amazon prime tv and it was way better. I have it through YouTube tv now and it’s great, great quality and never lags or crashes, 0 issues. I’d recommend checking out other ways to get it if you’re having issues. Obviously agree that it’s a poor product because they shouldn’t have these problems at all but there is a solution.
