Why wasnt the same done with KPJ who is way less talented than Sengun? We dont need two dominant guards

they better run the second unit like Jokic if they want to put Sengun in the best position to succeed.

 

Exactly!! And that is why they should not have done it. Had they just played Bruno and Sengun equal minutes with the starters or moved Sengun to the bench after 10 games, nothing would change. Instead you make the change before the season starts and leak it to the press. That’s a terrible way to handle things.

 

Sengun put him out of the league after he broke his ankles.

 

who starts G1 may also not be who starts G 82

if sengun is markedly better than bruno by about game 5-10 it will be apparent to all and hard to keep him on the bench .

they really have rolled out the red carpet for green tho . The amount he has had to earn compared to the other 1st rounders is a stark contrast with green handed 30 mpg on opening day despite definitively not being ready

It's pretty simple, Sengun doesn't fit Silas' offense.

I don't see him here long term unless he makes major strides.

 

fernando is not an nba starter. he doesn't have the coordination, court awareness, or just plain talent to be a starter in this league. that being said, sengun looked lost in preseason, like the game was too fast for him on most possessions. ideally his conditioning improves and he's moved up to the starting rotation next month. because fernando is not the answer

 

But KPJ doesn’t have to be. He was one of the best 3pt catch-and-shooters last year. I think if they had a better option at PG it might be feasible.

 

I would hope Alperen is NOT a weak minded wannabe superstar like Russell Westbrook. I would think this isn't "A LEAK" and he's been made well aware that they were going to try a few things with lineups. He's not a former superstar trying to dupe a team into giving him a max contract next Summer. He's locked in here on a rookie contract. It's not going to hurt his career.

If it was me I would have given it a couple games to see him next to Jabari, but they also see him in practice more than you or I too. They might be seeing him flourish much more with the likes of Josh Christopher, and Tari Eason.

So again.... not what I would do this early, but I just don't think it really matters. Next Fall when he's going into the final guaranteed season as a Rocket before hitting RFA or getting an extension, yeah... I could see it as an issue a player would certainly feel slighted by.

I am a little miffed he played Euroball in the off-season rather than working on his NBA game.
Hopefully, it only slows down his NBA learning curve slightly.

In 20 mpg, KPJ averaged more turnovers. Green wasn’t even in the conversation as a facilitator.
And give me a break on energy, he’s literally the only player on the team that screens-multiple times in the play. The guards have no idea to pass out of pick and roll whatsoever.
This team and philosophy is a joke, it’s a couple players playing iso ball to pad their own stats.
