What no right wing conspiracies about recording DNA by the government? Seems like easy conspiracy fodder. Wonder why the right isn't picking this one up and creating conspiracies around it?
I saw a parent on television basically understanding that the issue is identifying bodies. Sad state of affairs. Gun control laws wouldn't stop these incidents. The kid in Uvalde could shoot 21 people with another weapon if really wanted to kill. A 9 millimeter handgun holds 17. He would just buy another magazine. We aren't getting of guns so we have to address what makes people snap. This was supposed to have started last year
I'm not a gun expert but my understanding is taht a 9 mm handgun is far less powerful and accurate than a rifle of the type that the Uvalde shooter used. While deadly would be much less lethal and also wouldn't destroy bodies so much that DNA identification is needed. Also a 9mm wouldn't outgun standard patrol officers. That said I would also support age and other limits on handgun purchases.
The government shouldn't have your DNA. They can use it to oppress. Do you want the government to have access to the data collected by Facebook and Google?
I think the main difference is there handguns are unwieldy, inaccurate, have more recoil etc compared to a rifle like an ar-15. Something like an ar-15 is very easy to master. Little to no recoil. Very accurate.
The government already identifies us from birth to death. I understand DNA is more than identification
I have to think this is a publicity stunt there does not need to be DNA swabs in school, shame on TEA for doing this. I mean, how the **** is a DNA test protecting your family? This could backfire big time.
