HK protestor dragged into Chinese consulate grounds & beaten up

    Incredibly disturbing. One thing I would like to see clarified. Was the protester on the property of the PRC consulate? Embassies and consulates are considered territory of the governement they represent and as such if the protester legally then that protester doesn't have legal protections of the UK. It still is terrible for the PRC to do this but that falls more on the protester.

    If the protester was off of the consular grounds then this not only is a breach of diplomatic protocals but likely a violation of UK laws. If I'm a member of the UK parliament I would demand that the PRC turn over the unidentified person (likely PRC security) to the UK for prosecution for kidnapping and assualt. Then also demand they close down that consulate.

    Also I remember a few years ago something similar happened with Turkish people from the embassy beating up anit Erdogan protesters in the US.
