I don't agree with nasty crap songs like that being performed at a school. Then again, there are so many nasty performers and songs parents listen to or play in front of their kids, who are straight. It's no wonder you so many young girls think it's cute to twerk like their momma, or post nude shots of themselves online, and so many teenage boys think it's cool to film them naked or gang bang some drunk girl. Parents who try to set a good example shouldn't have their kids see that crap at school.

That’s sickening in front of children. I’m fine if it’s a adult only event but get the kids out of there.

I think it was intended for an older audience. Some parents take their kids to a rated R movie. That’s really on the parents.

If it wasn't during school hours I totally agree. Voluntary shows are something parents can choose not to attend with their kids, just like R movies, or letting them but R rated music and video games.

There is a disclaimer on the ticket purchasing site. https://www.bestdragshows.com/shows
"DISCLAIMER: This is a ticketed event at a private establishment. We believe it is the prerogative of parents/guardians to make decisions regarding the wellbeing of their children. If you would not allow your children to see a Rated R movie or watch TV-MA programming, this is not the event for them. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian."

The show is definitely not appropriate for children. However, I am on the fence whether the show or restaurant has the duty to enforce age restrictions or if it should be left up to the parents or guardian.

Movie theaters aren't required if a parent/guardian is with the child.

So why are people so outraged then? It's no different than parents taking their kids to a concert where they sing that kind of stuff and get nasty and half dressed on stage. I've seen parents take their kids to movies and concerts where they see stuff like that, but haven't seen a thread posted with people all outraged about it. Is it because they are drag queens? Is that the difference? I've seen parents post videos of their little girl twerking to a video on tv like it's so cute.

I wouldn’t subject a child to this but I also wouldn’t subject a child to entering a child beauty pageant or treat a child like Honey Boo Boo was.

Yes, and of course none of the social media "retweets" of this from performatively outraged conservatives are mentioning this. The truth isn't really the point for people like Christopher Rufo. This is about riling up folks, by any means necessary, in order to win the "culture wars".

That’s - point I was making in my pay about Honey Boo Boo. There are a lot of things that straight / cis parents do to their children that are as bad if not worse.

I think it's a double standard. Makes ya wonder why some of these people are so obsessed with such a smaller minority of people.

Don't see how this is different than child beauty pageants. Don't see national uproars and culture wars surrounding that stuff though. Probably because the people who do that are part of the cultural hegemonic power in the country.

Anyways this isn't "leftist" beliefs. This is just an attention w****. I don't know what liberals and leftists have to do with this. It's not some leftist argument that infants should be doing dances and having money given to them for dancing.

Do you want to talk about a single payer healthcare system? Or our capital gains tax policy that disproportionately benefits the wealthy class in this country?

Or do you want to keep on discussing pointless bullshit?
