You may "like" making people look stupid. Too bad you are horrifically bad at it. All you do is try to insult people who couldn't care less about you. This is you

Man, y’all still at it? Don’t you losers have lives?

For better or worse, KPJ is a Rocket now for as long as he performs well. Regardless of how we felt about value, we should all be hoping for him becoming the player his fans think he is or will be as that is good for the Rockets.

That's he's grown up and we're happy to have him?

Anybody that pretends the question marks about Porter's character aren't valid is a f**king idiot.

How would that be possible? The June decision is 2 years from now

Who's pretending? Stop deflecting. Has anyone tried to frame the discussion with KPJ being a model citizen? NO! So stop looking for smoke where there is no fire. I'm going to enjoy this year much more than others just to remind people like you how wrong you were about KPJ the PERSON first and then the PLAYER. So make sure you're near the front of the line when its apology SZN.

You got me - should have worded it with first year of new contract. Point stands, but you can enjoy the vitriol for two seasons if thats what you like.

Dude the only poster that has tried to spin anything is you. He didn't get some big extension, he got a "we don't trust you, but think you're talented" team friendly deal. You've been handing out I told you so's that have no basis in fact because nothing about Porter's status has really changed much.

If he's still a Rocket after next season, then you can gloat all you want, and we most of us will be more than happy to admit we were wrong. As of right now every question mark about Porter still stands.

It's funny how we've gone from "let him walk if he wants more than his cap hold" and scoffing at suggestions that the Rockets should try to get KPJ to sign a deal early at a discount rate of 15-20 million a season to "4 years 82 million isn't a big extension".

It is obvious to me that Stone and KPJ’s agent devised this elaborate contract structure with only one goal in mind: to mess up with the CF community and make it impossible to figure out who gets to brag and who gets to eat crow…

Part of that is because his actual real life extension is 1/16 and not 4/82. Now we get 2 years to decide if he’s worth keeping instead of having to decide now

All i know is that he got extended. Like if you want to clown on posters, do it to the ones the folks who believed KPJ who believed that would never happened are wrong. Those posters are easily to find since they are quite extremist in their views of KPJ.

Like folks now want braggin rights on the correct valuation of KPJ?

Man took a discount so it's all speculation. Him being on high demand? that's speculation also. folks getting angry over speculations and doubling down on it. quite weird. Just accept the victory that KPJ deserves and got a team friendly extension and move on.

His actual, real life extension is 4/82. In order to get past your tedious BS, I'll say what you would have said if you were an honest person. His day one GUARANTEE of his 4 year 82 million dollar contract is 16 million.... and he'll likely make 18 million in the first year of his new deal.

It's basically what I called for from the beginning with even more protections for the team..... it's a far cry from the insulting 9 million a year deal some of the anti-KPJ crowd was pushing for..... but now you guys are in full cope mode pretending that the dollar amounts you once scoffed at somehow prove you right.

I don’t see it as benching or handing out a demotion. I see it as trying to find the best spot for him to thrive. When you are able to add top two or three talent out of any draft, those players are usually going to take precedent over most people already on the roster. If we were to land Scoot Henderson, I don’t know if you necessarily hand him the starting job, but it should be an option. I don’t think KPJ’s presence should immediately block him.

Going into last year, I thought Green was going to be the best player on the team. There were times when he looked like the worst, which put him in the running for worst league wide. I think the time he sat out with his injury really benefitted him. After playing NBA basketball for a while, he got to take a break, observe, learn and adjust his game. If he wasn’t a different player immediately after coming back, it was not long.

KPJ has been starting for this team because they don’t have a better option. In many ways, I think that might restrict his game. If they had a better option and he took on a 6th man role, it might really open things up and help his game. Remember, 6th Man just means first guy off the bench. I would say that it almost never means 6th best player on the team. You need those guys running the second team and preventing major drop-offs. It’s an undervalued role by fans.

And if the Rockets were able to draft Scoot Henderson, I think (or at least would hope) that KPJ wouldn’t have any problem taking on that role.

Deandre Hunter got extended 4 for 95.

Rox got him at a discounted rate no doubt AND have protections. We should all be happy with the deal.

He's still got a long way to go, but he's headed in the right direction. His attitude has been great. He's working his ars off. No reason not to be excited about the future.

    One more day!

Fair enough, like I said the basis of your take is a laughably low opinion of KPJ and it pretty much ends the conversation.

The good news is that this entire conversation is pointless, the Rockets won't be in a position to draft Henderson....and likely wouldn't even if they were. Of the entire team, Jalen Green is probably the happiest about KPJ getting an extension and keeping him around another 4 years, his opinion on the subject matters a LOT more than yours or mine. I don't think he wants to ship out his PG that he has chemistry with on and off the court for an inferior version of him that he doesn't have any chemistry with.

It's okay though, just like with the "KPJ won't get an extension" BS or the "let KPJ walk if he wants more than his 9 mil cap hold" BS, I'll just let you guys fly off the handle with your hot takes and when they are proven wrong, you'll pretend that you never said them and that really you were saying what I was saying all along. I've seen it happen far too many times.
