Isn't that normal rest? (5 pitcher starting rotation).

Sure as long as he realizes grooving heaters middle of the zone too often will get you hung up.

    Last 14 starts for Civale

    Team W/L 9-5 3.24 ERA

His first 6 starts of the season 9.85 ERA.

So go with a pitcher who has been largely a solid starter the second half of the season or Bieber on 3 days rest?

So the rumor mill is that Cortez will pitch tomorrow on short rest, but the Indians don't want to force Beiber on short rest.

Nah, I think the winner will be too tired. If the Astros jump on them early on Wednesday, I could see the manager of the other team playing it safe, saving the bullpen for Game 2, and all but conceding the first game.

So the next 8 games in 9 days for the AL playoffs will be the closest playoff experience to the regular season since like ever?

Which really bodes well for the Astros since pitching will matter even more.

Obviously they love to play victim, but we're never gonna hear the end of this one.

    This is fun!

Isn't pitching Friday and then Tuesday a 3-day rest?

I was saying 4 days rest is normal. Not that Cortez would be on normal rest.

imagine playing 18 innings night before, everyone used up and a game the next day….

Delay happens. Situations like that are pretty trash to me.

Meanwhile the Astros have played 3 games in two weeks and none on back to back days in that stretch.

The weather looks great in Cleveland Saturday-Monday. Slight chances of rain in NYC those days. Shouldn't be weather issues in the ALCS. The weather is also going to be spectacular in Houston Wednesday and Thursday so does MLB force the Astros to open the roof?

The postponement definitely can only work in our favor, but does anyone else feel like they could have played this game starting about an hour ago? I've been looking at the weather and it seems like they could have pushed through.

    Maybe I'm wrong.

Should have put a roof on their Billion Dollar stadium.

I prefer an open roof when it's nice outside. That's just personal, though, nothing to do with baseball. That feeling is divine to me.

It's not like they don't expect to be in it every fall, why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't MLB want them to?

And someone else said it was public money, too? That's a whole other disgusting conversation.

Same. I guess it's more about familiarity for the home team. They've played one game this season with the roof open so they're used to playing home games indoors.

Don't other teams complain about the noise when the roof is closed?
