It both opens the door for Cleveland and New York to start a normal rotation pitcher that wouldn’t have started tonight which means that pitcher would be used up and unavailable til mid ALCS

Sometimes when teams have a game the next day they will fly their next days starting pitcher out to that city ahead of time so they get regular rest. I wonder if the Yankees and Guardians would dare do that and leave them short a pitcher.

Logistically, does this also prevent both teams from changing their roster between the ALDS/ALCS?

I can't see them doing that. In an elimination game, everyone has to be available.

I'd think anyone they're considering is going to be traveling with the team already.

if CLE or NYY win in euphoric fashion, dont you think that will carry over with no rest? I bet the Astros wanted to come back for game 2 immediately right after Yordan's walk off.

This is all going perfectly to plan.

Could not have asked for better regarding how this series is playing out.

Now we just need an 18 inning game tomorrow.

Are both teams going with Taillon/Civale tomorrow or will they go with Cortes/Bieber on short rest

Let's be honest. If that were to happen, when the Yankees win. The MLB will shift game 1 of the ACLS back 1 day.

Do Philly or San Diego have a roof?

Indians seriously have to put Justin Bieber on the mound.

this is why I hate weather delays. What if a team had game 5 locked up with a mid tier pitcher but a delay caused the ace to start?

not saying in this situation but just saying.

    no and California doesn’t rain.

Those Philly fans are so insane, I feel like I’m watching a college football game.

I don't know if that is that true. Sure having your ace instead of your No 3/4 pitcher go is better, but it's baseball. A No.3/4 can outpitch an ace sometimes.

Plus it's winner-take-all game 5, every pitcher will be on a tight leash.

Hearing a lot of Bieber possibly pitching for Cleveland tomorrow. Unless I’m mistaken, Bieber pitched against Nestor Cortes Friday so that would be pitching either on 4 days rest
