I thought he was a promising player, but from years 2 to 3, he regressed across the board except for his 3P%. More minutes but less PTS/REBS/ASTS. FG% decreased, too.

What were the Hawks thinking? lmao

It is like admitting we cannot keep all our young players and pay them, and then still adding young players.

It's smart if you ask me.

I'd bet a team with 34 yo Jokic and 32 yo Murray in 2029 is pretty good atleast as good as OKC will be next year so the swap is at worst a wash in value. But, they also get early 2nd rd picks which IMO are best on contending teams because they can fit a small specialist role as like the 7th man.

Even if they just get 1 nice role player out of the 3 picks and only keep them 4 years it's worth it to add a cheap role player to keep competing for championships.

I hope some older teams would be willing to make this trade with us. Cmon, Warriors!

I think it's a good trade for both teams, although I'm curious if the protection on the 2029 pick is like lotto, top 10 or top 5-ish.

For OKC they have so many picks projecting some forward is just smart asset management.
Plus they have so much young talent there's just not the roster space.

For Denver though it's obviously about keeping this championship window well stocked and open as long as possible.
And if you look at the draft boards this year it's at least 40 deep with players that have pretty good potential.
Pick #37 has about as good a chance as pick #25 of turning into a quality rotation player imo.

As for the 2024 picks we'll have to wait and see.
