Fired Jack Easterby

What a truly strange organization this is.

 

Easterby had his fingers all over those godawful drafts, trades, and FA signings when BOB was GM.

He should have been tossed out with Bill.

 

I share your lack of confidence in Cal and question whether he can ever become a competent owner. Getting Jack out of his ear and replacing that with people that have real football knowledge should make a huge difference. Cal should just stay out of the way.

 

Has anyone said why it happened now? It obviously needed to happen two years ago, but what led up to it today?

 

I truly believe that the Watson situation would have been somewhat salvageable if we have gotten rid of BoB and the easterbunny sooner. Folks would b up in arms against having Watson as our qb, but look at the garbage we have currently. Mills somehow looks worse than some of the other back up qbs we have seen over the years

Watson’s trade request was 100% because of Easterby. I’ve heard that from someone extremely close to Deshaun. His comment was that Deshaun would rescind his trade request tomorrow if they fired Easterby.

That wouldn’t have solved the problem that Watson is a sexual predator however.

It’s a bit weird that all these media guys are emptying their mouths now. Why not say all this when he was still employed?

 

It's all hindsight, and folks do make a valid point that u shouldn't trust your franchise qb to make major altering decisions. I just find it dumb that upper management went full stupid on allowing BoB and easterbunny to do what they did to our franchise.

If watson comes back to form with the Browns, we literally lost our franchise qb bc we refused to fire BoB and easterbunny until it was too late.

I'm curious about this too -- my guess is he was complaining about internal demotions and continued to try and act like he was a high level part of the organization. If he was caught leaking info I wouldn't be surprised, but need a lot more confirmation on that rumor.

 

from a moral point sure, but for football entertainment Watson would have made this dogsht team entertaining at least. literally nothing to look forward to for this team aside from draft.

this news alone made the season from dogsht, to meh
