Fired Jack Easterby

My guess is literally anything that makes his decisions involving trades and players look better. Dhop, Watson, all of it.

 

This. McClain downplayed a lot of Jack's involvement while all of this was going on and now he is acting like he knew all this $hit the entire time.

 

They were too busy getting their scoops from him. Afraid to criticize or else their pipeline would be cut off.

I, for one, will miss his great jokes and his Jesus led speeches.

 

It's weird that the local media allows national media to break news like this. I don't get it. We won't ever get a full autopsy report from the Houston Chronicle on the foolishness that went on with Easterby because that also makes the Texans look bad, and the media doesn't want to lose whatever sources or access they have with the team. We need for major media outlets like ESPN, SI, Yahoo Sports, or USA Today to actually investigate but not many outside of Houston or interested in the Texans so we may never get the full story.

 

Better late than never I guess.

With that said, I wonder how many coaches we missed out on because they did not want to work with the Youth Camp Minister in charge of football?

BTW, in case anyone was wondering, people outside of Houston know about Easterby and his antics, and they all made fun of it. So this is good news from a branding standpoint.

Now I'm back on the Texans bandwagon. I couldn't watch this team with Easterby running that team. Now I'm so glad he's gone.

 

The bald monk was exactly what everyone knew he was -- everything he did was... an open secret.

 

I guess John C Prepper is too busy clearing out his office on Kirby to give us his hot take on this.

 

Now get rid of the McNairs and I'll go back to supporting this team.

So I work with someone who is married to a higher up in the Texans org. She knows of something specific that happened but won’t tell me yet. I’m working on her to get the info.

When I see a "For Sale" sign on the franchise, I'll be back. Until then, we'll be stuck in the mediocrity that the McNair's bring and are perfectly fine with.

But these guys, like us, never fell for the Easterby ruse.
I expect them to pile it on.
Don't get me wrong, I'd probably still get my hands on an Easterby book detailing his life as the pseudo gm in Houston., "Debris"

I think his contract was up for renewal/expire at the end of the season, so he must have done something stupid to get fired midseason.
