I am looking forward to this team playing hard to win and gelling. I think the true tank would be if they do not use the cap space next year to at least make the team into a playoff favorite. Note I did not say championship team.
We have more talent on defense now. Jabari has to set the tone. I think he can do that along with his shooting. The rest of the team has to back him up defensively.
Covert tanking would have been keeping a disinterested Wood who is talented when he feels like it and doesn't play defense just because
You're going to get people talking about the time their favorite player who garnered 4 fouls in 32 seconds and who had the conditioning level of William Howard Taft taking a seat in the 2nd period as evidence.
No it isn't.....we are developing that is entirely the point......no more chasing the shiny object in the stream. DD
He has the instincts and the talent to do well. It will take him time. At least 15-20 games. The rest of the team needs to step up with him.
Who cares what anyone says, including Stone and Silas. Things like waiving Favors show we are developing by playing the raw players. Developing will naturally lose games. If we win games with a crew of 20 year olds then fine, let it happen. That's a huge bonus and shows that the tank worked.
lol its the other way around... tanking is when you play john wall and c wood and not sengun, the good young guy if given the keys sengun would ruin rockets tank...that why silas played with his minutes and played him to his weaknesses... point sengun would get any group of guys to playoffs harden style
Last 2 years have been horrible, worst team in the league. If the goal was not to lose games, well… he failed. If the goal was to lose games, well… he just lied. This FO is either too incompetent or too shifty and lying, seems to me.
Players aren't tanking but Stone is definitely tanking. Otherwise, he would have traded away some of those expiring contracts for rotation players on long term contracts or kept John Wall to play in the rotation. The objective is to win as many games as the young guys can on their own. The same as it has been. If Jalen and Jabari win a bunch of games that's a good sign that they're becoming young superstars, mission accomplished.
I "think" Wall would have played last year if the Rockets thought KPJ could have played the 3. It would have helped Green and KPJ's development IF KPJ was a 3 playing with Wall. However, KPJ is not a 3 and the Rockets knew he was talented enough to play PG they just needed to see if he could/can do it. There was no way to do that with Wall playing. It was not a deliberate tank. It was a "let's see what we really have with KPJ" tank. It wasn't like they were making the playoffs with Wall, Green, and KPJ starting.
Yes but if we sat KPJ, Jalen and Jabari, that would be tanking, I put us about 8-10 NBA players deep, but those at the bottom are far from those at the top. DD
