There’s been a running joke for months that the Astros are going to once again lose to an NL East team that gets hot late and makes a World Series run. Nationals, Braves…. Phillies? It’s not going to happen but it’s shaping up to be a potential matchup which is kind of funny.
I thought about this too. Both teams were exhausted and had extremely poor approaches at the plate leading to better pitching. That being said, still dominant pitching.
Do you possibly go with Urquidy in a Game 4 considering Garcia and Javier have shown that they are good out of the bullpen? I think Urquidy has done well out of the bullpen in the past but can’t really remember. Great call by Dusty rolling with Garcia last night with Urquidy waiting in the wings if needed. Glad Garcia was able to power through for the W. What a performance by him and the whole pitching staff.
I don't know man, Phillies/Padres are tough. If we get the Guardians, it goin be a dog fight cause they got nothing to lose. Skankees, I ain't afraid of them lol.
I think the pitching was excellent. I saw a lot of good stuff out there. I think the pitchers just brought it. Shadows did play a part early.
The trifecta… Astros W. Yankees blow it with 2 outs in the 9th…L. Dodgers blow a 3-0 lead and lose the series…L. An added one…Vols beat Bama. As good of a sports day in a long time.
Checking the box scores yesterday. There wasn’t one error in any game!!! 45 innings of errorless baseball. Incredible.,
My very uneducated opinion of the pitching was that they were successfully making competitive pitches with a little help from the Umpire. I don't think he was biased as he missed calls in and out of the strike zone on both teams. But that created a swing at everything approach that looks horrible because the hitters expected to get strikes.
Somehow, Miles Straw ended up on 2nd after a single without an error being called. Personally I do think that one should have been awarded a double, but could have been called an error too.
I think when it went to extra innings you didn't see that many good at bats by either side and that's because pretty much every hitter that stepped up to the plate wanted to win it with one swing. I guess that is a positive of Manfred runners. Hitters aren't just looking for the deep ball in that scenario.
That it's not a joke and Phillies/Padres are gonna be tough if the stros get to the WS? They 1-3 in world series now. You seemed confident that the stros are going to go all the way.
