Iran is a much more progressive country than Afghanistan, regardless what is happening in Iran currently in terms of women 's freedom is what has to happen in Afghanistan We (America) cannot do it for them
It's just a terribly dumb post. There is no comparison between the situation of women in Afghanistan and in the US. It's obvious you were trying to be clever, but you failed in a highly embarrassing fashion. Don't double down on stupidity.
No, your post was idiotic. And you trying to wiggle out of it by talking bullshit is embarrassing. Go stand in the corner and be quiet.
Just saying that your judgment of what is and isn't idiotic doesn't really carry any weight these days. But you're welcome to keep trying to win the internet if it makes you feel better.
it’s all relative No, but we can provide support for progressive to increase their chances of success
I agree. I wasn't saying it would be equally bad to be a woman in the US as in Afghanistan. I simply said that I wouldn't want to be a women in either nation.
There is a valid comparison to be made between the moral policing of women in different societies. It all stems from the same patriarchal impulses. The more religion is used to justify and inform state action (as in Iran and many other Islamic countries), the worse it becomes. Doesn’t mean there is “no comparison” to be made.
He didn't say they were compatible, but the US does have a lot of improvement to do towards gender equality. For such a great nation it's pretty bad when you are ranked 17th in the world. Then again, we've never had a woman lead our country either in 233 years! That's terrible. Republicans are the worst too. The good ole boys club. They've never even had a woman as Vice President. We have only had 45 female governors in the history of this country. We have a long way to go when it comes to gender equality and racial equality. It's the land where white non Hispanics rule.
Women are under assault in my country. FB wasn't being facetious. Far from it. A coterie of extremists on the Supreme Court, three of them appointed by trump during his 4 years in office thanks to the obscene way McConnell gleefully trampled precedent, have tossed in the trash decades of settled law. That little group of men, as well as one woman who is astonishingly unqualified to sit on that court, are attacking the right of women in the United States to have control of their own body. This is despite an overwhelming majority of the American public being for retaining Roe. That small group of extremists in control of the Supreme Court aren't done, either. Go stand in your own corner.
This is a thread about women in Afghanistan. It is utterly ridiculous to bring up the situation of women in the US in comparison to what women in Afghanistan have to endure.
I don't think anyone in here disagrees with the fact that Afghanistan is far worse. That being said, we need to look at our own country too. Deckard is right in what he said. We are going backwards in time thanks to a group of men in the GOP party and a lying woman unqualified to even be a decision maker. The extremists touting their Bibles while discarding the pages of scriptures they don't follow themselves are the worst types to push their beliefs into law.
