China supposedly had two exascale computers before the US officially announced theirs. Whether it was legit doesn't matter as much as them claiming to have made them. They also have billions of data points for machine learning and AI spanning far longer than the west, who care enough about privacy to make a difference. So there are fears our lead would be overtaken, though AI and ML so far have been money sinks to things that have been promised years ago but are still x years away (self driving cars, smart robot servants, etc). Not only did the US block EUV machines that make 7nm or smaller chips, they also blocked ASML from exporting leading edge DUV machines that SMIC (China's version of TSMC) uses to make 7nm chips. If an inkling of that tweet is true (seems more than possible), then it's a crippling setback to the point where China can't admit the extent of how bad it is. I think China can bounce back, but in what timeframe...they gotta up their IP stealing game. A lot of this tech is not cheap or easy to plan out. Intel has been slumping because the tech they banked would carry them didn't pan out compared to what samsung or TSMC achieved. In any case, as long as China wants to play with Russia and Iran, there's no reason why they should be allowed hide behind free market principles. One of Xi's big plans is to close China's system and return to their Maoist roots. This also explains the CHIPS Act in a more cynical way, a payoff for their silence from the Admin shutting down the China market. Semis have already dropped a lot post-chips because of the pivot away from China along with recessionary drops in demand. On our end, it shows visible weakness or a continuing policy shift where we take China's threats seriously. Companies that rely on china for growth will need to step up on their pivot elsewhere in both manufacturing and sales. I doubt Chinese customers want any part of that and they've started to shift away from brands like Nike.
Always good to set goals. The bar isn't exactly high with dumbocrats but we can start. Probably helping you lose weight and investing your money. The gym probably will take a little time
I don't understand how people's citizenship could be threatened. I also don't see how he can expose individuals to sanctions without explicit legislation. But, if its true, that's freaking terrible and we shouldn't be doing that unless we're actually at war with China, which we aren't. Don't see why anyone would be bragging about how effective a tyrannical rule like that is.
Article is inaccurate if not outright false...once people were able to gather who the source was it was discredited immediately.
I'm not clear on where this idea that Biden can take people's citizenship away is coming from. My understanding of this is that chip manufacturers working with the PRC are subject to sanctions and if they are US citizens they can be prosecuted. That doesn't mean their citizenship can be stripped but that people who have US citizenship are resigning from work with the PRC to avoid that penalty.
You know I never watched the video until now. That’s it? Lol. She was making an awkward face before he even started rambling.
I also think the claims that these examples of Biden being touchy as being sexual are stupid also. But Biden doesn't read rooms well. You don't tell girls you have no personal relationship with about when to start dating seriously especially when you are a 75+ year old dude with no family connections with that girl. It's a weird and stupid off the cuff remark. Dude needs to find other ways to relatable with common folks than these weird ass comments. You can tell that girl was like "okay whatever dude. Weird". But I doubt she thought she was being touched in any sexual manner. That's where me and the poster who posted that tweet would vehemently disagree.
