Why the show was a waste of time: - If you were a Hulk fan, the show gave you Skaar. Which is fine, but I don't think She-Hulk was a necessary vehicle to push this plot point. - If you were a She-Hulk fan, the show didn't really do anything special with the She-Hulk character. - If you were a fan of lawyer shows / "legal comedies," Jennifer Walters was a pretty average lawyer and a pretty average person. The show, overall, also wasn't very funny. Walters was also the plainest character on the show. Her supporting coworker showed more personality, throughout. - If you were a fan of the show, the finale served no purpose. Taking She-Hulk's blood was actually an interesting plot, even up to the point where HulkKing meant to use it for himself. But then the finale was the finale, and that was that. - Titania was a very boring "villain." Donny Blaze was boring. Madisynn was the best part of the entire show, which is incredibly sad. Even if they did pull a bait-and-switch and meant to make fun of a certain group of people, my question is...why? What were they even going for? That finale was new and innovative, but for people that were actually invested in the story, nothing of substance happened. People are going to crap on the show for varying reasons, regardless. And just because a show makes someone more self-aware, that's not really going to curb 'incel' behavior. In fact, the outrage for the show is probably more pronounced, now that the finale has aired. It's very easy to say that watching this show was a complete waste of time, compared to all the other Marvel media out there.
Imagine pretending you don't think about the show, yet commenting in this thread throughout. It's been the most divisive piece of MCU media yet and breaks the fourth wall like Deadpool does. Of course it's going to get people talking.
Yall really writing a thesis on a show that doesn't take itself seriously, lulz. Yall want SOOOO BAD for something to matter. Bro, it's a show about a superhero, just LIVE. It doesn't t have to have anything in it that matters. Yall crying SO HARDt. This show somehow turned yall nerds (YOU in real life) that are scared of women into the entertainment. Cuz now I'm lulzing at yall. LOVE IT. Good luck, bozos
She did it first in the comics. Anyway, ending was a total bust for me. No higher villain lurking in the shadows (that we were shown) no big brawl, just a family picnic with her boyfriend, then uncle Hulk shows up and we see Skaar for one second (possibly the most important part of the show for the overall MCU). Y'all know I'm an MCU fanboy, but I will say this show just failed. It should have been a movie. It's not the worst thing in the MCU (Captain Marvel) but it's close.
So my wife is very hit-or-miss on Marvel stuff. She can get into some of it, but some of it is just a "little much" for her. I watched the whole show with her and it was obvious to me that she really enjoyed it. I thought the plot was kind of unfocused and kind of fizzled out, but the fact that I could sit through it with her and watch her enjoy it while simultaneously not falling asleep myself means this show gets a big thumbs up with me, even though I thought it was very meh exclusively from my point of view.
Good point. My wife loved it too. She’s also a she-hulk fan and was excited when She-Hulk went into the writers room because that happens in the comics.
Not even a movie. It should have been what "Werewolf by Night" was classified as - a television special.
The funniest jokes weren't in the show. They turned real life people into the joke. Case and point. Kind of amazing really. Yall getting WORKED not WOKED by a 20min cartoon show.
I'm most impressed by the pain tolerance of those that stuck it out through the entire season after that first episode. I cringed so hard my neck was sore the next day.
I also gave Miss Marvel a shot. I like the non stop cameos She Hull brought out, but this is the start where people question how tightly related tv shows have to be with the MCU. They teased in the FOMO by dumping hundreds of millions into tv series with individual avengers, but now comes the Made For TV budget line with Daredevil, kingpin, Hawkeye (lol), and all the other masked city randos that doesn't need $$$ sfx. Even without the MCU approach, their quality would prob be better than netflix disney or DC TV shows. Instead, they wanted D+ subscribers so they amped up the expectations and went for the highwire act.
