Rockets waive Derrick Favors

    This was likely a favor to favors. He can now catch on with a championship team.

    The Rockets aren’t trying to win the most games they can this year and are more focused on developing and evaluating talent. Favors would have become frustrated with a lack of playing time especially with players he may consider inferior playing ahead of him.
    Bobas won’t complain at all because he’s just happy to exist and be part of a team.

    Stone was probably already trying to flip him and found not trades that made sense without hampering future cap.

    not the move that i woulda made - but whatever....

    i'd think having Favors contract, along with Ego, KMJ and whoever... would have allowed more flexibility for the possibility of a deadline trade for a disgruntled potential star... i always like flexibility and options... but i guess we're kickin the can on acquisitions until next years cap space...

    as i said... whatever...

    this year is about letting the kids play imo...

    I would have waived Nix, or if he has Lamb's pictures of Tilman in his locker, then Matthews, but whatever.

    Edit: The way he keeps playing, I might even have considered Garuba, but trying to be patient in his second year as a 20 year old rook.

    Well, if they're actually trying to win Boban will play more than Mathews. Nix has to be the guy on the bubble though.

    I can pretty much guarantee Eric Gordon is not being traded.
