I have no issues with EM wanting the US to pitch in, I do question his motives and I don't think a US citizen should be talking with a scum bag like Putin especially trying to talk about what Putin wants to end the war........the timing is very suspect but at the end of the day he should get paid for his services as they are crucial

Here's the problem. USAID has already been buying thousands of terminals on behalf of Ukraine and footing the cost of logistics and distribution to a war zone. On top of that, Ukraine has also been funding the procurement of terminals. Musk has gotten the privilege of claiming that his company funded the whole thing when in reality most of the terminals were paid for by other entities and the only thing he's providing is the actual internet service.

But my problem is that he is pretending that he's funded the whole thing when in reality the US government has paid for most of the terminals on the ground. But this is typical Elon Musk. He wants headlines so he'll lie about outlandish things to get everyone to talk about him. In that sense, he's a lot like Trump.

I don't know anything about this deal, but if it's USAID following a government RFP with a contract - Elon Musk can't just "pull funding" - whatever that means - without facing whatever is in the contract terms and conditions, and much like the Twitter deal, this will not be litigated in a court that is favorable to him or his bullshit presuming it goes to the Court of Federal Claims like most government contracts

Musk: Makes a claim that he's donating starlink to help the Ukrainians
Reality: Charges for most of the service making others foot the bill

Musk: Says he can not longer give Starlink for free and US gov't has to pay him 10's of millions
    Reality: Musk is double dipping.

    Musk: I am a hero
Reality: Musk is a capitalist playing a PR game.

Says the bowtie-wearing-dildo who works for Fox, who is absolutely, no way, not at all, in any way, part of the corporate "hegemony" he's railing against.
