Thank you Dodgers. Your trade will make us happy for years to come! Can I quote Pretty Woman now? Big mistake. Big mistake. Hahaha
Only Reggie Sanders of the Cardinals in 05 has more RBIs (8) in their first 2 games of the post season than Yordan.
Just put Yolo on ignore like most of us have already done. It is easily top 5 worst posters on this forum.
I’ve been to both games. The Astros haven’t looked very good. Mariners have looked fantastic. We’ve really taken their absolute best shots. We’re still winning. Exciting to think we can get a lot scarier.
Anyone notice how Click built a really strong and deep bullpen? Montero has been nails. Stanek new Astros record for reliever ERA. People were upset at the Neris signing and he dealt today.
Astros 32-7 in last 39 home games vs Seattle, holding them to 2 runs or fewer in 25 of them. A veritable House of Horrors indeed.
I am not a huge Servais fan BUT I understand why he brought in Ray. Alvarez this season has hit both lefties and righties. However he has a hole in his swing when lefties get a breaking ball inside against him and he also has hit a lot of inside sinkers from lefties on the ground. Ray is a lefty, he likes to pitch inside against lefties and he has a good slider and a sinker he can pound insider. The problem is that Ray gives up homers and Yordan hits a lot of homers on inside pitches that get too much of the plate. Ray missed only by maybe 6-7 inches for the optimal placement inside against Alvarez… and he paid…
He didn’t throw him fastballs. He had his vertical placement perfect but horizontally he was about a half foot off. I agree with you that throwing back to back of the same pitch, especially when you tried to sneak it by him was foolish.
Almost every manager is one bad post season series away from being unemployed. General Managers sign high priced "star" players and expect them to produce, which they can not do if they don't get in to a game. There is tremendous pressure in Seattle to win. Imagine the questions Servais would be dealing with if he had NOT pitched the $115M Cy Young pitcher they signed in the off season. If you are going to lose, lose with your best. Unfortunately 2022 Robbie Ray is not 2021 Robbie Ray and the Astros pounded him all season. But he has the talent and history to make managers hope he has that great outing the next time he pitches. So he keeps getting chances
Yes building a solid pen is where Click's imprint on the team is and what he brought with him from T.B.
Glad to see people arguing about Servais and not Dusty. What I know for sure is I second guessed three different Dusty moves today with the bullpen and I’m happy as **** I didn’t get to come back here and b****. I wouldn’t actually have done that but I’m also not a giant vagina. There is seriously something wrong with all of you that b**** at every opportunity.
I’m a little confused. You’re saying Ray didn’t throw two fastballs? I don’t actually care what pitch you call it but what it sure as hell looked like is he threw the same pitch twice despite Yordan being all over the first one.
