Draymond Green and Harden would've absolutely feuded. Harden had issues with all his Houston co-stars, and none of them were as hot-headed as Draymond Green. Draymond has the skillset of a follower, but he's deluded himself into thinking he's a leader. Probably bought into his own hype when people were trying to denigrate Curry by saying Draymond was the heart of the team. And Draymond is absolutely stupid enough to derail a championship run. We know this because he actually did it. You don't see how Draymond shooting corner 3's is a problem? Tucker is an above average 3pt shooter and especially good from the corners. Draymond Green shoots under 30% from the 3pt line (always wide open), and defenses encourage him to shoot 3s. That's the problem. That's like saying we should've let Dwight shoot technical free throws instead of Harden.
draymond is definitely the leader of the warriors along with iggy and the now retired Shaun Livingston. what made you ever think Stephen curry was the leader of the warriors during their run
Because he was. He may not have been a vocal leader, but he led by example which is far more important.
Draymond is not on the level of those who Harden clashed with, which is why he would be the Tucker role with more play make duties He would have been practicing way more corners 3s in that Mike D / Harden system more so than what he does now playing with two of the best shooters and three when they had KD Nothing wrong with being a leader who stays in his ability on the court lane, which Draymond does for most part Tucker improved that shot because it was all he worked on heavily in that system, Draymond with the same role would have been able to replicate that for most part And since the NBA began lots of teammates clash, but winning usually covers it up, but when they lose it gets blown out of proportion and the media makes it daily news until they find another feud to take its place I already mentioned he derailed their title chance in that 2016 finals and then again with KD feud (injuries did them in also), so they still won 3 titles during his so called feuds, which is why the Dubs tolerate him because they have won 4 in 8 years with him as the D anchor/quasi leader etc
Draymond Green has always said what was on his mind, and Harden had a thin skin. They were guaranteed to feud. Are you seriously suggesting that Draymond Green doesn't consistently practice shooting 3's? It's the greatest weakness in his game, and if he were able to shoot the 3 consistently, the Warriors would be unstoppable. And you think he's not trying to improve it? You think the coaches don't want him to improve it? You think he enjoys everyone laughing at his airballs? Simply an ignorant take that shows a fundamental misunderstanding of who DG and Tucker are as players.
Okay to your feud, because it has been going on since the 60s era The Mike D / Harden tenure was 3s on roids, making them basically one dimensional where it was more the focus and depending on that shot or dunk/layup Not saying Green doesn't work at it but playing your career with 3 of the greatest distance shooters and liking to overpass and assist hunt played right into his hands where he only shot wide open or when shot clock was running out n had to force it He would have been more of a volume 3 PT shooter with Rockets so he would have had way more practice at improving where th warriors relied on ball movement to get their snipers open, or when they had KD just give it to him and get out the way, walking bucket Simply ignorant that you are not looking how the two teams operate offensively, his air balls seem like alot because of his low 3pt attempts per game because he looks for his snipers to do their job and he does his, which is anchor the D and assist hunt
Iggy is on record numerous time saying that he plays for Curry and he loves Curry's leadership. Never heard a player to talk about another player in more glowing terms than Iggy does with regards to their number one player.
The point is not for a Warriors fan to chose their guy over another due to them liking him, the point is if they were willing to chose Harden a known choker and have him replace Curry a known champ and winner.... The answer is hell no, would they chose LeBron? I'm sure they feel confident LeBron delivers what Curry has if they had to replace Curry. Curry has played with these All Stars Klay Thompson Draymond Green Durant (three years) And won multiple championships Harden has played with CP3 Dwight Howard Kevin Durant Kyrie Irving Joel Embiid Russel Westbrook And has won multiple playoff choke jobs To say Harden has played with lesser talent is a myth. I'm not sure there are many players in the league who have played with more talent than Harden.
Well you said ask any GWS fanatic so I took it as you worded it to be Chemistry / core years are important Outside of OKC version with KD being longest tenure prime superstar, they went to I think couple WCF trips and Finals trip With back surgery non Orlando 2009 version Howard I think they went to couple WCF trips while Howard was thinking he was Dream / Shaq in the post but was more Drummond at that stage With CP3 they had the cheat code stacked Warriors on the brink but came up short And now going on full first year with Embiid, TBD. When Curry didn't have his core they couldn't make the playoffs So Harden had his best mates for couple seasons in later stage of career, while Curry has had his entire career, now switch players and those same GWS fanatics would choose Harden
Such a disingenuous representation of reality. Curry had two or all three of the guys you listed all at the same time. Harden essentially only had 1 off of that list at a time. Howard was really good but not at his peak and he quickly declined to a journeymen who took years to eventually accept the role that our organization tried to get him to fit. Durant, Irving and Harden played like 30 total games together, if that? And Harden and Irving got hurt. And many non Houston homers feel like they were well on their way to advancing deep if those injuries didn’t happen. With CP3 they were well on their way and CP3 gets hurt. That team has been mentioned as one of the best non title teams ever. Embiid has been barely half a season together. Embiid also got hurt and we really don’t know to what extent Harden was still hurt. Mentioning Westbrook is trolling. He was ****ing garbage and you know it. And with all that said Curry clearly has shown that he is the superior guy and Harden has absolutely choked in some situations that would have elevated to a higher echelon of the all time best guys, which he absolutely is.
Why the heck would anybody draft Manu over Harden? He was willing to take less money because he was a declining player and was the 3rd or 4th option on those Teams. Manu could not lead a team to a championship either, but he also probably could not lead a team to the playoffs, and certainly not to the conference finals. You people just throw any common sense out the window when it comes to Harden. Harden was very effective in OKC not being the primary ball handler and when he played with Russ he was not dominating the ball and was effective and the same happened in Brooklyn. He has never been not very effective his entire career.
I agree with most of your post. Harden is better than Manu. My point was more that neither would be main guys on a championship team. In the grand scheme of things Manu is a better #3 from a cap and team perspective than Harden is a #1. Harden got paid the max while Manu didn't and Manu was an all star coming off the bench. I think, even though Harden is better, if you could replace prime Manu with Prime Harden on those Spurs teams he wouldn't fit great and pay and rotations would become an issue. Team roster construction and salaries become more important after you get past the best player on a championship team.
What's the point of this. Harden is on a tier above Ginobili, there are only a handful of players who lead team to championship that does not make all other players on the same tier. Harden got paid Max because he was a better player and had much more succes leading ateam he was worth the max. Harden would have been great on those Spurs team. Just listen to Coach Pop himself on Harden. https://airalamo.com/2016/12/23/gregg-popovich-watches-tape-one-time-time-year/ Why would Harden not fit great, and why would rotations be an issue? You don't make any sense. The GSW had 4 max players on the roster.
Again, you don't know who draymond green is. Defenders want him to shoot the 3 and they give him plenty of space. He's a terrible shooter. Period. No amount of practice will change that, and it's moronic to think otherwise. He punched jordan Poole bc Poole was trash talking him. Do you know what draymond was doing when Poole was talking trash? Airballing free throws. He's not a good shooter and your belief that "he just needed to practice more to be a good shooter" just shows your ignorance. He's consistently wide open. You really think no one in the GSW organization has thought that he should work on his shooting? Please use some critical thinking.
Harden probably won't do as well in a Kerr system with Draymond and Klay. On the other hand I would have never chosen Curry over Harden on our team either. In those 2 years Curry was injury free, he would have to play on team with McHale. Hell in 2016 they beat everyone's ass without Curry in the playoffs. Curry would not be who he is without the rest of that crew, the same could be said about Kerr, Klay and Draymond. Everything just worked
It was an interview on espn front page from prime source. Fake news? Lol After watching too much Russia Today channel, your critical thinking had warped apparently
Curry literally just led the Warriors to a title with Klay being a shell of his former self and Draymond getting benched for playing like trash. Curry might be the easiest player in NBA history to build around, and you're acting like he needed a specific set of teammates in order to succeed. Give credit where credit is due.
