Idk if it's your political stance that's carrying over to the basketball one to invoke that type of response, but it's threads like these that u keep as receipts to clown folks when they are wrong or say something truly erroneously or when u crown da prophets.

Did you just compare Jabari Smith Jr. to the two best players in NBA history?

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm so sorry for killing your buzz. Maybe you'd enjoy it more if you take DD's jock out of your mouth?

Tell me where I'm wrong, though. I think it's realistic to judge a player based on at least one season of NBA play before declaring him anything. Sengun was definitely part of our core last year, but now folks are souring on him after...*checks notes*...one season of NBA play.

RJ Barrett was considered very tradeable his first and second years in the league. And now he's a definite part of the Knicks' core. Tyrese Halliburton had nothing but great things to say about the city of Sacramento, and was projecting to be the best player on that Kings roster...yet he clearly wasn't part of the Kings' core.

I'm not saying no one on this team is part of the Rockets' core. But this thread is too knee-jerkish at this point in time. It's also pretty moot, which is why I brought up Sengun. Opinions can change on the drop of a dime.

For people looking to take things out of context and not recognizing that when they were rookies they were the best players on their team, and not known as the best of all time.

But for those that understand that rookies can be the best players on a team as a reference....than sure.

You're welcome, person that says trade a player like Green because he paints his fingernails.

Where TF do people like you even come from and how do you get to be like that?

I think its WAY too early to make this type of assessment.
Who to keep and who to go changes every week around here with some players.
And it doesn't mean anything anyhow unless your poised to make a trade and have to decide who goes and who stays.
Its all speculation. The guys you think are your future often times are not. See Astros Springer & Correa.

Now, what things look like right now, who are the guys who you give the minutes to and so on. Sure, you have to have a plan for that.
For me though, there isn't a sure thing on this roster, if by sure thing, you mean franchise player, perennial all-star or super star.

This is what this coming season is about though. Getting closer to making sound determinations.

See, I think this conversation should go on now, middle of the year, end of the year, it is a continuing conversation.

And, that is what a bulletin board is for....right?

It's a BBS. We are not in the front office or deciding the future of mankind. It's a conversation around our team. If you don't like the thread don't comment. But there's no need to say the thread is invalid. It's a buzzkill.

I'm doing you a favor jerk. Learning to say "yes and" instead of "no, but" will take you a long way in any relationship. No need to rain on others parade. Sheesh . You can pay at the window on your way out

KPJ out to contender for vet point guard and future picks, we are better but still **** in the result so we give ourselves chance for Wemby/Scoot Henderson. If we draft Wembley we then trade Sengun+EG for real core point guard, if don't we draft one. Next season Tate diminishes to the bench and we have new real PG(I like KPJ but more as a bench spark where he could run offense like EG back in the day), Jalen one of the best shooting guards in the league, Eason the glue guy, Jabari one of the better 2 way players with either Sengun or Wemby. Everybody fits with each other, we are athletic, long, we have shooting, defense and rebounding. Id take it. It sounds like foundation for contender.

    For speculation. sure!

I guess the statement "Here is Our Core" makes it sound like these guys are cemented as our future, and I just believe its premature to say that.

This is the way I see it. Should be fun to watch. Roll the ball out and let these young guys grow.

    The CORE
    - these are must keeps that we will build around. In no particular order

Jabari - Hope is he turns into the best 2 way player, and has leadership qualities, possible all star.
Green - Hope is he can learn to score efficiently and develop into a leader, possible all star.
Sengun - Crafty, smart and the best passer on the team. Needs to continue to develop but may have as high upside as anyone else on the team.
KPJ - Maybe better suited to a 6th man role but for now he's the best PG on the team if his head is OK
Eason - so far, so impressed. may be the steal of the draft. makes too many plays to keep him off the court

Essential Bench and TBD In no particular order

Tate - he is what he is, and plays hard all the time. every team needs one (off the bench)
EGO - still one of the best scorers on the team, expect he may be moved if the right offer was made
KMJ - Needs to keep improving and keep his head right.
Bruno - best "big" presence we have at the moment, expect plenty of PT for him this year.
Christopher - plays hard all the time, a little bit of a chucker but not afraid to mix it up.
Nix - needs to improve TBD if he can at this level
Ty Ty - Young and willing, has a good game TBD if he can transition to the NBA level

End of the Roster / Extras In no particular order

Gary Mathews - expect he'll play more than I would like but he plays hard and can hit his shots
Garuba - Needs to improve quite a bit to break into the rotation
    Favors - Contract only
Stein - end of the bench

Well it is ME saying it, I can't make it the actual core, it is just what I think. And, while I am sure the org pays attention to what I believe, doesn't make it so.

    ;)

Oh, and I really don't think the org cares what I think....lol.

Fashion taste and hobbies you disagree with is not a sign of a lack of work ethic

    Starters
    Porter jr
    Green Machine
    Kenyon
    Jabari
    Bruno

    Second Unit
    Eric Gordon
    Josh Christopher
    Tate
    Tari
    Sengun

Put me with those who see that Sengun doesn't fit the Silas scheme.
With Bruno you get that screen roller vertical spacer and
KPj-Green just pin their ears back and attack-attack-attack
    downhill.

Sengun slows the Pace to much and predominantly
plays drop back defense. Second Unit could use
his passing along with Tate and Eric Gordon......
see if JC can improve his passing over the season.
    ______________________

    I'm done with:

    Garuba
    Nix
Boban should never play except for garbage time......non existent 3P defender.
    Mathews, wheels have come off.

TyTy: verdict still out. Looks scared to run point vs NBA players.
Go down to the G-league. Played shooting guard next to Wheeler
and still looks like he wants to be SG next to......J Christopher!!!! Really!!
You are going to quick pass to J Christopher to run things?!?
You ain't ready then. You ain't a point guard then.

    Draft Cam Whitmore.
