this isn't true. the bottom of the lineup wins games especially in the postseason time and time again. especially in the modern era where lineups are much deeper top to bottom for the elite teams

the big bats struggle all the time for every team.

Myers seems to have the whole "Welp, probably getting out here, might as well try and make him throw 4-5 pitches." We call that the Adam Everrett/Ausmus approach. I still have faith he can get things fixed next season if given the chance, but not sure he'll get that opportunity.

Castillo almost a 5era third time through. Hopefully they are able to get to him.

Dude made a bad throw home on a play that would have resulted in a run and an out even if he throws to first. And gave up a couple of base hits, which was bound to happen at some point. He recovered, and he's only given up two runs through five innings. That's not deserving of the level of vitriol the man got in this thread.

Castillo doesn't look like he's giving up another run, throwing straight gas w/ percision. Need Altuve to break out

Jake did not earn a playoff spot in the regular season. He couldn’t hit a beach ball and his defense was trash. I still knew that Dusty would play him today. Dusty just does not like Chas. Its obvious. He refuses to give him CF.

It's a good question because this Mariners lineup may be one of the statistical worst in terms of getting on base. Yet, our pitching seems to treat them like Albert Pujols.

I mean, if you're comparing it to Carlos Correa...then no, but you can say that about 95 percent of other shortstops as well.

Ok but the odds one of the top 6 do something is more likely than the bottom three. Statistically this is true. Obviously the bottom of the order matters

    Cool.
So he walked a guy on a ball 4 that wasn’t that close. Got upset and managed to lose all his location due to his emotions. He then proceeded to not be close the next two batters putting them in hitter counts which is a thing in baseball. Got a ground out, rushed it. Threw a 30 foot throw 3 feet away from his target. Then managed to leave every fastball up the remaining of the inning which is another sign of “emotions.”

It was all mental. Baseball is a mental sport. Maybe that evades you but you didn’t seem to address that aspect.
