Got to play every game like it is the last game of the WS. In playoff baseball, anything can happen and usually does. As a fan, I really, really want this game.
Really want to do to Castillo what the Mariners did to JV yesterday (sans the epic comeback). Acquiring Castillo is their equivalent to us acquiring JV in 2017, would be especially demoralizing for them to have Castillo get lit up today.
Unless Diaz stinks up the joint just as badly, why would Dusty ever go to Mancini again? Maybe if the Astros are up something like 8-2 and he lets him pinch hit late in the game, but otherwise they can't waste those at-bats.
Mancini has hit into some terrible luck and is probably pressing. He just needs a blooper to fall He is a very talented player and winning the World Series will be much easier if he contributes. The bench is much weaker if he doesn't contribute and Diaz has to play. My hope is that he either pinch hits today or starts Saturday and comes through with a hit. Even if it's just a little bloop single or swinging bunt. I fully expect once one falls the flood gates open and he ends up with a few productive games.
Okay so the man is on regular rest and you're saying his game is going to be off. What's his optimal time off, 4.75 days?
I would not say those two are equivalent. Verlander was a buy-low with the Astros getting a huge discount because Verlander pitched poorly for the 1st 2-3 months of the season. Castillo, while I think Seattle got a good extension, cost the Mariners a pretty penny for the 1.5 years of his service while the Astros likely are the better team.
Completely wrong, as usual...but who's counting. https://worldpopulationreview.com/us-city-rankings/cities-with-most-murders Mancini can be a bat off the bench. There's just no time to hope someone is going to break out if it. Right move by Dusty to sit him.
https://www.insidermonkey.com/blog/top-10-u-s-cities-with-highest-murders-in-2020-877995/3/ Total Murders. You are looking at Murder RATES. There were a total of 524 murders in Chicago in 2020 through September 6th. This figure was 345 during the same period in 2019. Overall, Chicago has a daily average of 2.1 murders so far in 2020.
He’s light years better than anybody else on that show… and actually gives real analysis as opposed to A-rod (fake analysis). Ernie just basically said flat-out, “You’re too good at this TV thing…”
