I love this 'unity' front. Who voted for all of them? the dumb community.
And these people wanted to DIVIDE KOREA TOWN too.
The GANGS in LA aren't this racist.

my conclusion is anyone can be racist towards anyone
so you should vote based on individuals and their character not because they are of your race or another race because it's popular

michael jackson said it doesn't matter if you are black or white

I have always wondered about this, why do as significant number of Latino's look down on black people?

Is it because of the Spanish/European roots?

I also know there is a huge strain of colorism, maybe worse that black people, I am not saying blacks don't look down on Latino's but it does not seem to run as deep among black people.

I also realize this is a class and age thing, it's mainly in people over 40 people under 30 don't seem to give a dam as much.

I am a black guy who grew up in Texas and was surprised when I learned about how a lot of latino's feel about black people.

I don't think Hispanics are that racist in general towards blacks but to hear a lot of racism from Blacks towards Hispanics which I think is driven by Hispanic progress.

I think Los Angeles is a separate situation where there seems to be a lot racism. It just seems to be very tribal

I watched this PBS American Masters documentary, The Zoot Suit Riots about Navy Sailors in Los Angeles beating Hispanic teenage boys because some were accused of murdering a sailor in 1943.

I didn't know those baggy suits that were popular with Hispanic boys in that te period were called Zoot Suits. I had heard that term but didn't really what it was.

That style was first popular with Black young men. I have seen pictures of Jazz musicians back then wearing them and I always think of the movie Malcolm X when he first gets to Harlem and X played by Denzel Washington and his friend played by Spike Lee are walking down the street in Zoot Suits and are jumping around

I just googled the American Masters and I was surprised it's from March this year. It's really good, one reason it had a lot of people who were in LA during the time

Yeah, the community didn't know they were racist. Now that they know, they want them gone.

It's a massive difference for example, on the other side certain communities find out they learn their elected officials are horrible and then still support them or worse yet, support them because they know they are racist.

These people that want to divide are being asked to go away, that actually is a show of unity. The opposite would be if all of a sudden the hispanic community in LA stuck behind the racist community leaders and supported them despite all of this, this isn't what is happening.

I mean a GOP senator just called black people criminals. Nothing from the GOP or its supporters regarding that, not a damn peep, but we'll have people act like they care about anti-black racism.

Does it really need to be said that believing or thinking someone should resign isn’t the same as forcing someone to? Is Biden about to forcefully kick her off the council?

I don't know, but there's gotta be some jealousy embedded in the hate.

Colorism with Latinos probably isn't as complicated as it is with Blacks. Many times lighter skinned Black people are from mixed-race parents. That's where it gets real complicated from what I've noticed.

I've noticed that the biggest issues are with the extremes with Mexicans. There are some who look straight-up European and others who look pure Indigenous. The majority in between are the Mestizos that might pass as "olive skinned" Europeans or lightskinned Indigenous people. That bigger group gets along fine and you'll see the whole range of hues within most families.

For me, a lot of the comments from Latinos are due to them thinking they're better than Blacks for whatever reason (that should go without saying) and jealousy in terms of common physical attributes and just coolness (not sure how else to say it). Also, when you see a Black and Latino couple, the Black person is usually the man.

The comments and attitudes I've been referring to are from men, BTW.

That is interesting, and it goes along with Hispanic men liking Trump, but then you have the kids who try to be more "black" than black people.

I have noticed that Hispanic teens are starting to cultivate their own identity and not just copying from black urban culture as much.

Gringo Hispanic men are the ones most in competition with immigrants for jobs. (Black men might be second.) Gringa Hispanic women typically don't compete with immigrant women for jobs. They both fill different job markets.

Maybe the change with Hispanic teens is the crazy popularity of whatever type of music Bad Bunny makes and the fact that the Central American population is increasing.

Funny a lot of Black racism I hear towards Hispanics are that Hispanics think they are better than Blacks and they just got here and they benefit from the struggles we endured.

It's slave mentality because it's based on Blacks never catching up to whites so at least we are better than them.
