How much credit do I get for this? Ok it wasn't a start but I knew if Ray pitched good things would happen for the Astros. Can the Mariners still start him in game #3 or #4? Even after tonight people were saying things like " ya gotta use your $100M pitcher and hope he performs" Please please . . . Pretty please
Yordan Alvarez finished 111th in total innings played in the outfield. Yet he finished 23rd in outfield assists. Arm component of defensive runs saved, 5th. On a per opportunity basis, 2nd only to Oswaldo Cabrera. True story.
Game 1 multiple heroes Yordan - walkoff. But also 2 out 2 run double to start the scoring and throwing a runner out at the plate! Pena - getting the hit with 2 outs in the 9th to get Alvarez to the plate. Bregman - 2 run Homer in 8th to get them within Yordan distance of the win. Tucker - great catch in 9th saved the speedy Rodriguez from being on 2nd or 3rd with 1 out. Yuli- 3 hits including a homerun Bullpen - 3 hits no walks and only 1 run in 5 innings to stop Seattle and give the bats a chance to come back. Dusty - his bullpen choices worked. 2 of 3 pinch hit choices worked ( Vazquez single and Hensley HBP) and he hit for Dubon when he needed to. Truly a team win
Maton broke a bone in his pinky finger punching a locker after his last relief appearance in the regular season. I'm assuming that has been mentioned somewhere?
Manager Mariners kept saying tomorrow 2x in postseason press conference, tomorrow is not Thursday. He probaly thinks Game 5 is on Tuesday.
Good thing about being in Africa, hard to keep up with the game, had to get to sleep for a 5:00 AM wake up, seeing that the Astros came back for 5 in the last 2 innings for the win and reading all the typical doom and gloom comments about the best team in the AL.
Alvarez becomes first walk-off HR while training multiple runs in MLB postseason This Houston baseball era is amazing Win another championship
Surprisingly I didn't know this until you mentioned it. Wow. What a p***y. Can't even hit a locker properly. Just like his pitching. https://sports.yahoo.com/astros-p-p...little-brother-out-of-playoffs-211011434.html
Wtf just happened yesterday… I was telling myself, are the astros gonna start off the playoffs like this??? ( as in a comeback like no other) was pissed I had to watch 1-6 innings at work on my phone on and off.. instantly got blessed with 3 innings of mind blowing baseball. Yay lol
You were at work I suppose. It was all over the board when they announced the Roster without Maton and Smith. Mostly people calling him a dumbass.
Hensley deserves a spot on there too! What an at-bat by a 26 year old rookie September call-up with only 29 AB's on the season in mlb. He has surely impressed!
With a 1-2 count, Paul Sewald dropped a pretty nice slider on the bottom corner of the strike zone, and Jeremy Peña hit it into center field for a single. Pena starts hitting sliders and the league is in trouble.
