So in order to understand Tulsi, you have to understand Hawaii politics. Hawaii is a one party state and I don't mean that in the sense that Democrats always form majorities in the legislature and win statewide elections. I mean Hawaii flat out doesn't elect Republicans. In 2016, Democrats won all 25 state senate seats and 46 out of 51 house seats. In 2020, Republicans made huge improvements and won a State Senate seat (but they also lost a state house seat).

So in an environment like that, anyone who wants a taste of political power runs as a Democrat. So Hawaii's Democratic Party is basically a coalition of liberals and conservatives, not unlike the old Democratic parties of the Deep South. Tulsi is from the Conservative faction. In any other state, she'd just run as a Republican but she's in this for power so she ran as a Democrat. In the state legislature, she was actually quite conservative. However, since there were other conservatives in the party, she had allies. But once she ran for Congress, she had to start voting with the Democrats or she'd get instantly defeated in a primary. So this is when liberal Tulsi Gabbard showed up. She had a relatively liberal voting record until she decided not to run for re-election. If you look at her last year in Congress, she started to take u-turns and go back to her old positions and now she's just embracing being a right wing politician again. I suspect she got bored of Congress and saw an opportunity to just become a right wing news personality. She can make a lot more money and she doesn't have to travel 12 hours each way to go to Washington.

Her story is one of someone who wanted power and fame and she was willing to do anything or take any position to make it happen. But in her heart, she's a far right conservative, just as she was when she started her political career.

It's a good thing that lunatic is out of the Democratic party. She's going off the deep end more and more.

It is a good thing she came to her senses. I missed your posts on Kamala Harris lol. You have no standards though as you've proven

Really? That's about as dishonest a comment as you could make. Maybe look into her history if you're not aware. She's as bad as Trump

Funny to see you guys anger at Tulsi though. She's doing something right. Calling her a b**** while defending Kamala shows your true colors

Anyone who sells out to a foreign gov't as Tulsi has done is a traitor.

So can we finally go back and call out all those fake "independents" who used to always say "BUT IF TULSI WAS RUNNING I'D VOTE FOR HER".

That was always bullsh$t, and should have been called out more back then. I've seen few people in my life that are more self serving than Tulsi freaking Gabbard. Latch onto whatever is going to get you the most fame and money at that moment instead of standing for something you believe in.
