That could also be filmed in just about any redneck predominantly white Republican town and you'd probably see those same kinds of reactions.

If you are black, good at sports, and on their team they will root for you. They will cheer you on, and admire you, as long as you don't speak out against inequality and racial justice. If you are a law abiding black citizen who doesn't entertain people for a living, you need to just keep your mouth shut and accept your place, which is a step below their hierarchy of human worth.
When I was stationed at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton, Florida in the 80's, they actually warned people of color or mixed race not to venture 35 miles north into Brewton, Alabama. I knew a girl who grew up there and had a mom from the Philippines. They actually had crosses burned in their yard. I heard there was an old swimming pool with a sign No Colored People Allowed, or something like that. I never went there to see if it was still there. I had no interest going to a place that racist. Forty years later some of these towns are probably reverting back in time with the BLM hatred and White Nationalist politicians spurting hate and fear to their supporters.
