In the words of John Oliver, “Desantis always looks like he’s wearing a suit under his suit”

This is true. We had the old math where you added corn stalks to chicken eggs to get the square root of cow patty.

Would anyone be surprised if he stuffed his suit and his pants?

Why is DeSantis always scowling? Does this dude stay mad, or does he have resting Gary Mathews face?

From some of the things I’ve read about DeSantis is that he doesn’t enjoy the personal touch of politics and isn’t that friendly to begin with. He seems awkward and unhappy in these situations because he is awkward and unhappy.

Those are two more traits that he has in common with Nixon.

Didn’t he just say the other day that we don’t have to politicize every tragedy? This is how depraved these people are

yes, people were praying for massive death and destruction for political reasons  …that was definitely a thing

People like him are always telling on themselves. If this hurricane had hit California or NY they’d be celebrating and fist pumping. This is the same guy that voted against aid for NY after Hurricane Sandy

Admittedly, that sounds a bit like something Trump would say. It's just "riling up his base". Gotta be careful with that.

He's in the perfect political environment for that. You don't need to be likeable. Just be combative as possible with the other side.

That is what has largely propelled him to near the top of the current GOP.

still even he knows he has to show some basic competence in the face of disaster and work with political enemies. As I was saying in another thread Abbott showed known if that in the freeze out yet still appears to be heading to re-election.

DeSantis does stay looking real stiff in those suits…like a pillsbury doughboy body trying to rock a slim fit

Can he even raise his arms past a 90 degree angle?

I find Obama more likeable than DeSantis, but I like DeSantis' politics better, for the most part.

    Ok, it's on now.

There is no way this guy can become president, the memes just write themselves and they strike to close to home at least Trump had irrational confidence, this guy looks like he never showered at school.

Did they just get arms? ROTFL!

Trump and DeSantis are trying too hard for that slim look but they are husky men, especially the former.

You mean the Governor who votes against hurricane relief for other states, yet his own people need government aid because they can't afford insurance? Then, he wants and accepts government help. He's a hypocrite just like the other selfish Republicans. It's only going to get worse with the climate change the Republicans think is just left woke garbage. Just wait when more hurricanes come, and more and more uninsured people lose their homes.

It's not because of hurricanes that the insurance is skyrocketing either. It's because of so many fraudulent claims by crooks, and lawyers allowed to rob people blind in attorney fees in Florida. Nearly 80% of all homeowners' insurance lawsuits in the U.S. come from Florida.

Floridians pay the highest homeowners insurance premiums in the nation for reasons having little to do with their exposure to hurricanes,” said Sean Kevelighan, CEO, Triple-I. “Floridians are seeing homeowners insurance become costlier and scarcer because for years the state has been the home of too much litigation and too many fraudulent roof replacement schemes.

Florida has one of the most generous attorney-fee mechanisms in the country—sometimes resulting in insurer payment of plaintiff attorney fees far greater than the damage awards given to the policyholders who are the plaintiffs themselves.

It's really no different than someone who can't afford healthcare. Republicans believe giving them government care is socialism. SMH. You can't wish yourself well when you can't afford health insurance any more than you can wish for your flooded home to be fixed when you can't afford home insurance. At least if you lose your home it can't kill you like not being able to afford healthcare.

Like him or hate him, this is a touching ad featuring his wife. I like his politics but I have to admit, he’s got that unfriendly vibes around him.
