Last week, I had gone through quite a few covers by Eva Cassidy. I don't remember her doing much in the way of Chicago covers, but that song did have some of the same vibe as some of Eva's covers. Perhaps consider that choice as a transition from what I had recently been listening to.
Andy Gill does not get enough credit for his influence on so many other guitar players out there. As much as I love Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, etc, they would not have existed without Gang of Four.
