The reason the Rockets were not assured was because there was a tie in record. Coin-flip. Rockets could have Hakeem or Jordan....LOL. There is no Jordan as an alternative in this draft. It is not worth it.

And there's no guarantee of a top 2 pick even if you miracle your way into the worst record.

Zion was no where near the prospect VW is. He's possibly the best prospect ever. If Lebron was in this draft as the prospect he was when drafted, he'd go 2nd.

This is my concern also but i’m going to be optimistic and give the organization the benefit of the doubt. If they do try to make the playin and show that they are morons, then it is what it is, nothing i can do

So trying to win, when your team is too talented to successfully tank, would be "moronic" in your opinion? LOL, okay....

Still blows my mind The Rockets could have had Dream, Jordan and Clyde. Those three in their prime would have killed. Probably end up with 10 rings.

Absolutely. No benefit to winning 28 games vs 22 games. Utter idiocy. Also, our talent is all rookies and sophomores. Guys that young don’t win games

The guys whose HS games were on ESPN and who NIke gave more money to than Kobe before playing a NBA game?

So how do you propose winning 22 games? Benching all the starters in the second half of the season? WIth even less talent last season, the Rockets ONLY lost that many games due to how bad Jalen Green was early on in the season, adding guys like Smith and Tari along with starting Sengun and having Green pick up where he was at the end of the season and you have no chance at only 22 games without significant shenanigans.

It's far more important to continue to develop the core of Green, KPJ, Smith, and Sengun than to bench them so you can have tiny odds at landing the #1 pick in the drat.

A few years ago, when the team was completely without talent, it made sense, but that's not where the team is anymore. It would be moronic to harm the young core for at best a 14% chance at landing one player.

Without a doubt. On a complete different level.

Edit: Again a better prospect than even Lebron and his gms were on ESPN as well.

If they would have had Clyde and Sampson, they would have never been in the position to draft Hakeem. Would have won more games.

You misunderstand, he's talking about the reported trade the Rockets turned down sending Sampson to the Blazers for their pick and Clyde meaning the Rockets could have drafted Hakeem and MJ.

Your always bringing up Jalen's first half play (which yeah he was bad like most rookie guards), but you never mention the fact that KPJ had a trash 1st half. They both played better down the stretch. Check the game logs. The truths out there.

I was referring to Portland offering Clyde plus the #2 for Sampson in 84. Rox take Dream at 1, MJ at 2 and get Clyde in the process.

It's true they both struggled offensively early but Green was next level terrible, he was a -20 to the team's net rating when he was on the court in the first half of the season. If he had just simply not played at all in the first half of the season, the Rockets probably win 8 more games. He was that detrimental.

That's my point though, now Green is a net positive and the team has added more talent and dumped some cancers to team chemistry....30 wins should be the minimum.

What’s nonsense is not wanting a young team to win. If we win way more games, that means our young players have improved significantly. If we’re the worst team again, that’s a bad sign for the young guys we currently have

If you think we have on the roster now to be a future championship team, then that’s your opinion. I don’t think we do
