It's just the logical next step for the woke brigade. It's exactly what Trudeau did in Canada. It follows the Chinese social credit playbook. Disagree with those in power and be ruined.

"Oh, you have free speech, you just have to live with the consequences." Literally what some of the leftist posters here spouted.

If you want laws against this, you need to vote for DeSantis when you get the chance.

Paypal has been very liberal with taking your fund. I usually withdraw fund quickly because there isn't much recourse for individual or merchant once they decided to take it (I guess you can sue them but who have the time to do that). I was never sure where that legal power came from, but whatever the reason, they seem to play king when it comes to your fund. They also update their user agreements every few weeks to months. Ain't got the time to keep up with its ever-changing user agreement.

I don't trust PayPal to keep fund in there. I see them as one of those businesses that abuse their power over their customers. But they are so large that you can't completely avoid using them. Good thing there are plenty of competitions.

Based on this, I would definitely not be using PayPal for any business transactions involving expression of opinions. Clutch uses PayPal for membership on this forum. If PayPal decides some stuff on here is “offensive”, can they just take up to $2500 per transaction from him? That’s what the wording says. Insane.

What's so hilarious about right wing free speech rhetoric is that it's never about the fighting for speech that let's say leaks tax havens for the most powerful people on the planet but instead the battle lines that will determine the future of speech to power is about people feeling oppressed because they can't misgender other people. God damn if only the right had this much vigor about actual real issues.

Lol, you are overacting a bit IMO. Also, Republicans are generally against consumer protection. CFPB (which Republicans want to abolish) is an agency that protects consumers against PayPal and other private companies' abuses.

“An AUP notice recently went out in error that included incorrect information. PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy. Our teams are working to correct our policy pages. We’re sorry for the confusion this has caused,”

And no I doubt this was Paypal "testing" the reaction. Any person and their grandmother knows that a policy like this in today's political climate is going to have people act like they are victims of the Holocaust because the right to call a transgender person their birth gender is some sacred right of humanity. This seems like some employee either ****ing up or intentionally wanting to cause a outrage news cycle for ***** and giggles.

You have to understand that @AroundTheWorld only cares about this issue to the extent it touches the culture wars issue. Consumer protections isn't something that is on his mind. That's not his goal here.

They also own Venmo. If you think that's an alternative.

Do you like have the most baseline form of intellectual curiosity to follow up on news stories you deem are important?

From your concentrated effort on this subject matter I would assume you would follow up on this story. But like I assumed before, your political discourse and knowledge is at the click bait memes level of understanding therefore you would know the follow up to this and not just carry on with the same narrative assuming no follow up happened.
