Stroud looks like he’s having a day, but man he has some talent around him. You guys have to check out Drake Maye, this dude is cold. Playing on ESPN2 against Miami, Van Dyke looks good but he’s also playing NC defense
You can say that mostly about any qb that goes to a big school. Why would talent around him be brought up?
If you want to pretend the talent at Ohio St is the same as other big schools, I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.
No the level of talent around Stroud is truly special in comparison to the other qbs a big schools. It’s a perfect storm where nearly every one of his receiver have been first round nfl talents for the last two years. He gets crazy time in the pocket, and their running game is extremely good as well. No other projected first round qb has that amount of talent on offense. It’s being brought up because it’s robbing us of seeing how he responds to pressure because he rarely has any.
So… Joe Burrow played with arguable the best WR core every and talent all over the field at his last year with LSU.. he was not judged with the talent around him but rather what he did with said talent. CJ is having one of best season in OSU and will possibly win and Hiesman trophy as well. Why when it comes to CJ talent is brought up when that’s not the case with other highly rated qb prospects?
Got it.. when it comes to CJ let’s just look at what’s around him rather than what he is doing with that talent.. Im hoping you don’t have that same narrative when it comes to Bryce do you? So if a qb does less with talent in college then they should be valued more? Just confusing..
Yes, I take all factors into account. Joe Burrow also played against tough teams and won the national championship. CJ still has time this year to play against tougher teams and prove himself in tough situations.
Like in this game he’s playing against Michigan St. Obviously they have way more talent than Michigan, but the pass rush is getting to CJ a bit so I’m getting to see how he deals with it more than usual. So far he’s done well throwing off platform and avoiding pressure in the pocket.
Ok CJ I see you! Regardless of the talent gap Mel Tucker still coaches his a$$ off and Stroud is doing that to his defense without JSN which is huge…because he been struggling without JSN. Also Harrison Jr is having a day

Kind of hard to parse, but it looks like the top 3-4 current receivers for Ohio State are significantly better than any of the receivers for Alabama.
We have 6 picks in the top 100 and a significant amount of money in free agency. If Caserio can’t build up the team with those resources and spend one of the first picks on a qb, he needs to go ahead and resign. People acting like one pick is going to ruin the ability to build up the team is just ridiculous.
It’s more the opportunity cost of drafting a qb. If you draft a qb in 2023 you are married to the guy for at least 2 or 3 years. He better be the one. If they like someone in this draft they should go for it…otherwise build up the rest of the roster then work on getting a qb.
Every draft pick is a risk, and the cardinals showed that you aren’t married to a qb if you’re sure after 1 year that he’s a bust. Obviously that’s not the ideal, but it’s not the end of the world either.
OSU has all this receiving talent why doesn’t it translate? Look at successful NFL WRs from both schools and it’s not even a contest. Alabama has STARS at WR in the NFL compared to “nice” OSU WRs. Not buying this Alabama smh ALABAMA is lacking at WR. The reigning heisman trophy winner needs stars to throw to? Miss me with that sorry. Alabama gets their pick of the litter at all positions.
