Mind-boggling that we acquired all that talent with 2 drafts and a trade for a 2nd-round pick. Stone has made an absolute believer out of me. The man has an eye for talent and the business savvy to find a way to get what he wants.

Not to mention Christopher, Garuba and TyTy may round up the rotation. An 8-man rotation in just two seasons and the oldest guy is 22.

Many talent scouts thought that Eason's "dominant right hand" meant that he had to develop ball handling. But they could not see that even NBA-level players struggle to stay in front of Tari. He moves wherever he wants so easily, and never looks rushed. His impact on defense, rebounding, and raw ability to create on the move is off the charts.

I wasn't sure about his catch-and-shoot 3-point range, but he's checked those boxes through the off-season and these two preseason games. That's allowing him to match up as a small forward where he's better suited. Though he can switch to bigger players, his drives will be even better if he regularly draws slightly smaller matchups.

I'm trying to reserve judgement. Maybe he had gross mental lapses or was out of position a lot and we will see that in the regular season once teams actually start running their offenses.

Otherwise it's just hard for me to comprehend how this guy fell to 17. He's almost a walking prototype of the perfect NBA player for this day and age. His shooting form doesn't look award winning, but we have no actual data that suggests he will be a liability if teams try to leave him open.

He looks every bit the part of a guy that has the potential to be a major factor on a championship level team even if he never becomes an offensive superstar

Put it this way - Scottie Barnes was ROY last year, and I don't think there's any way Tari puts up lesser numbers than Barnes if he gets more than 25 mpg.

Doesn’t make sense that he fell to 17. This is what he did all year at LSU! These other front offices literally over thought it, and I’m so glad they did.

Our go to play is Nix bricking it on a drive and Eason somehow getting the offensive rebound put back every time

For how much hype Barnes was getting, I don't think Tari is any worse on defense

Bari and Tari will help change the course of the franchise.

Green+Alpi last year, Tari+Bari this year.

    Nailed it.

    Twice.

That's a designed play, should be counted as Nix's assist. :D

I think there was definitely some bias against him in the scouting process. He comes off as a stronger personality who has a very instinctive, aggressive style of play on both ends. I think some teams may have assumed that he'd be harder to mold than some younger, more media-friendly prospect.

This isn't to say he isn't articulate or whatever, but he's someone who prefers to let his game do the talking -- and he honestly doesn't need much molding at all. He already has a lot of what you can't teach (on top of great physical gifts), and just needs to continue polishing up his skillset, which he's clearly working on.

But I'm not complaining, he was a Top-10 talent who fits perfectly with Jabari, Jalen and company, and aggressiveness/toughness is going to be invaluable to this core group moving forward. I keep saying this kid has star potential, not in traditional sense, but more in an unorthodox Gerald Wallace/Shawn Marion way, in that his motor is always running and he always seems to be in the right place on both ends.

If we want to tank I don't think this guy can start cuz he's going to single-handedly win us some games.

Maybe because his role was pretty much the “guy” at LSU, which hurt how he was viewed?

I think he’s still pretty raw but he just has such great instincts/intangibles.

Tari will become the best out of green Sengun and Jabari.

My hot take: Eason is going to be the Rockets' best player or second-best overall player by season's end. He might not lead the team in a particular stat, but I think he really does have the makings of a Kawhi or a Paul George.

The spotlight is on Green and Sengun's sophomore development and on what Jabari's rookie season will be like, but Eason could surprise everyone.

Tari going to make some noise this year for sure. I don't think he'll start. I don't think he'll be in the running for ROTY. I don't know about the Kawhi or PG 2.0 predictions but he's really gonna make some noise. That follow up to his own 3 pointer miss and put back.. It's just in him
