Anyone know why MLB went into bracket format so that Astros have to play winner of 4 vs. 5 spot Wild Card series? With the best record in the AL, they should have it set so we play the 6 seed if the 6 seed pulls off an upset against the 3 seed.
You know what would be nice right now? If I had a different postseason game that I could switch the channel to.
I'm more just worried about Atlanta because I don't want the team's emotions of last year getting to them in rematch WS. Also, historically, teams that end the season that hot tend to cool off in the playoffs. Mostly because all the teams are now good and can be real easy to go 1-3 or 1-4 in the small sample sizes of playoff series. https://www.mlb.com/news/hot-streaks-late-in-season-important-for-mlb-playoffs
Going 78-34 isn't "finishing on a hot streak", that's playing on a 113 win pace since June. The Astros weren't that far behind, going 74-38 in their last 112 games.

Dude thank you. It’s like all these ****s forgot what the playoffs are. It’s ****ing baseball people.
Had a dream that all the teams who lost yesterday won today, which brings us right back to where we started, a one game playoff.
I wouldn't mind that. But after three games, the WC teams will have burned through three pitchers, nominally their best to reach the DS. Better than just one pitcher. But that gets up back to an old debate about facing a dominant ACE. Do you oppose him with a long shot to hope for better match-ups in subsequent games? 1 vs 5 2 vs 1 3 vs 2 4 vs 3 5 vs 4
no sh*t. Let’s worry about getting past the ALDS. Then we can worry about the ALCS if we are not on the couch. Mariners make me nervous. Castillo pitched a freaking great game. As it lines up what would it be? Castillo vs Framber?
